One page with a spot, not affeceting text. * Early Italian version of Appian's [c. 95 - c. 195 a.d.] work on the Roman civil wars (part of his larger work on the history of Rome).

Small hole after insect attack to the upper board of vol. I. A bit of rubbing, stains and wear to the bindings. Interior with some leves a bit browned. * Interesting set: The set consists of various editions of the works, some dated 1735, a few dated 1762. It seems that the publisher have used some unsold copies of the 1735 edition, to which he has added some recently printed 1762 parts to fill the gaps.

Good. * Aside from its importance as a key in the literature of the Franklin mystery, Kanes narrative, with its valuable geographic and scientic information, is one of the great books of artic exploration and the search for the Northwest Passage. It contains much information about the Eskimos. E. K. Framed in black passepartout [32 x 23.5 cm] with photo. * One of the big rock icons of the post punk period, Nick Cave [b. 1957] has been writing songs, books and movie manuscripts since the early 1980's. His production is highly regarded - both with his main collaborators The Bad Seeds and his side project Grinderman.

Gyldendal, København 1885. 578 sider + 1 udfoldeligt kort over Finnmarken. Med talrige illustrationer i s/h i teksten. Orig. komponeret gråt helshirtingsbind med overdådigt nordlysmotiv. Gl. navn på fribladet. Ryggen og forpermen let plettet. * Sophus Tromholt regnes for at være pioneren interntionalt, for sine studier og optagelser af nordlys. Han skrev bogen "Om Nordlysets Perioder", efter optegnelser i Grønland, og så denne bog, der også blev udgivet på engelsk under titlen "Under the Rays of the Aurora Borealis". Bogen blev til efter et ophold i Kautokeino i Finmarken, hvor han observerede nordlys, under det første internationale polarår i 1882-83. ** En iøvrigt særdeles interessant rejsebeskrivelse og etnologisk dokumentation, der uden tvivl har stået som inspirationskilde for Knud Rasmussen, da han som ung gennemrejste lappernes land som en slags forberedelse på sine senere så berømte ekspeditionseventyr på Grønland.
