Some foxing to the halftitle and frontispiece. * First edition in book form. Nice copy.

Contemporary full vellum binding with nicely calligraphed title on spine. Old name and discreet contemporary baron's monogram ink-stamp on titlepage. Bookplate on front pastedown. Name on front endpaper. * The third issue of the edition in Low German - Platdeutsch - of the Jutland Law from 1241, by far the most important of the medieval Danish law complexes. First edition with the Glossarium by Joachim Blüting. ** While the Jutland Law was finally replaced by The Danish Law of King Christian V in 1683, the medieval predecessor continued to function in the Duchy of Schleswig, which situated as it was between Denmark and the Holy Roman Empire was ruled by both the Danish king and a range of German-speaking dukes in common. This double administration ended i 1713 when the full duchy came under Danish rule again. The law continued to function even after Schleswig was conquered by Prussia in 1864 and was finally abolished as of January 1st 1900. This version was first published in 1593. This third edition is accompanied by a detailed commentary by Joachim Blüting.

In the second half of the book, the plates show rituals from France.

As usual, some uneven fading to the silk on the boards and spine. Very good. * Second edition of this spectacular work, published the year after the original edition. The collection consists of 66 folio photographs of early 20th-century Beijing and the surrounding area and includes photos of famous views such as the Forbidden City and the Great Wall as well as pictures of ordinary Chinese people.

Navn (Hans de Hofman) på bagsiden af forsatsbladet. * Pragteksemplar, der er givet til godsejer og topograf Hans de Hofman (1713-93), som bogen også har en trykt tilegnelse til. Hofman var på dette tidspunkt amtmand i Kolding og havde det store arbejde med at færdiggøre Pontoppidans Danske Atlas bag sig. Planchen med prospektet af Haderslev er da også genbrug herfra.

A bit of rubbing and edgewear here and there, but overall an impressive and complete set. * Grand work on the everchanging history of Bretagne / Brittany, through the Gallic, Roman, Frankish, Viking, Norman, English and French periods.

Name (1863) and older inscription on front pastedown. * Very scarce pamphlet on the liberty of the press, quite uncommon in the German Reich and elsewhere at that time.

Andersens velgører af samme navn), der har erhvervet det i maj 1865.

Værket, der i større biblioteker ofte supplerede det af Hans de Hofman besørgede Pontoppidans Danske Atlas, ses på grund af den lange udgivelsestid sjældent komplet. ** Sættet stammer fra biblioteket på herregården Rathlousdal syd for Aarhus (navnetrækket tilhører Niels Rosenkrantz von Holstein-Rathlou (1786-1846)). Exlibris. * Meget velbevaret eksemplar af den svenske barokhumanist Johannes Scheffers (1621-79) værk om det svenske rigsvåben med de tre kroner - et sidste indlæg i den dansk-svenske våbenstrid. De tre kroner sidder som bekendt stadig i det danske rigsvåben, mest som et minde om Kalmarunionen.

Minimal skramme på ryggen af bind 6. * Dejligt sæt af en af de vigtigste romaner i dansk litteratur. Romanen blev aldrig senere udgivet i denne form. Allerede i forbindelse med andenudgaven skar Pontoppidan værket ned med over ti procent.
