Gammelt navn på første tittelblad.. . “Lars Salvius framträdde några år efter bosättningen i Sthlm för första gången som författare med en ekonomisk veckoskrift, Tanckar öfver den svenska oeconomien, som utkom med 47 nummer inför riksdagen 1738. Vid sidan av C Polhem (bd 29) etablerade sig S genom denna som den tydligaste kritikern av den förhärskande merkantilistiska doktrinen, symboliserad av främst produktplakatet med dess enligt S menliga inverkan på importen och genom skapandet av alla slags monopol; ett gynnande av handeln på bekostnad av inhemska producenter och konsumenter. S såg emellertid inte statligt understöd av näringar som något i sig förkastligt. Publikationen var signifikativ för hans fortsatta bana också i flera andra avseenden; han framträdde redan nu som en av de mest artikulerade latinkritikerna och i samband med att han diskuterade uppfostringsfrågor förespråkade han ökad utgivning av lärd litteratur på svenska, detta inte minst för att minska kostnaden för dyrbara studieresor”.
