(Studien zum Kölner Dom, 4). Exhaustive, well-documented history and documentation of the vast and thoroughgoing completion undertaken 1816-1902 of the Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom). Construction of the edifice began in 1248 but was halted unfinIshed in 1473. The cathedral completed, essentially to the original mediaeval plan, is the largest Gothic church in Northern Europe.
