Ett mycket bra exemplar, snitten mörknade men inlagan endast obetydligt lagerfläckad samt några svaga marginalfläckar. På främre försättsblad en ägaranteckning "Fabrikören Olof Westerhut, Asarum" och stämpel "Hush:s Sällsk:s Slöjdmagasin, Karlskrona". Carl Sahlin, Förteckning över svensk färgerilitteratur, 48. Första upplagan, "på egen bekostnad utgifwen af Carl Gustaf Berling", av den första omfångsrika bok om textilfärgning som utgavs i Sverige. Boken är en översättning av den danska "Fuldstændig Fruentimmer-Farve-Bog ... samlet og uddraget af Hellots, Lindners og andres trykte Underretninger og skrevne Opskrifter ... tilligemed en tilføyet Plette- og Kunst-Bog" som trycktes i København 1768.

This copy lacks the text leaf to plate 19.

Complete two-volume set of this work on modern building with steel-constructions. The first volume, with Bauhaus-influenced typographical design, displays numerous examples of modern tenement buildings and detached houses, in the USA, England, France, and Germany (including buildings designed by Sauvages, Gropius, and Luckardt & Anker), and there is a final section on tubular and other steel furniture. The second volume is devoted to the technical aspects of building with steel, with many photos of modern buildings in the course of contruction and various building elements, as well as plans and drawings.

A fine, clean copy in contemporary boards, some cracking at spines. First edition. A collection of essays on important buildings in London - with emphasis on more recent developments - written by Britton as well as by leading architects and historians. The plans, elevations and perspectives accompanying the essays were drawn mainly by the elder Pugin. Encouraged by the success of the publication Britton contemplated another two volumes but those never materialized.

'The Mechanical Principles of Engineering and Architecture' (London 1843) translated by H. Scheffler. As a professor at London's newly established King's College, Henry Moseley was instrumental in creating the institution's department of engineering and applied science. In the present work he draws on the latest continental work in mechanics, covering topics of interest to both military and civil engineers and architects. Notably, the American edition of the work was adopted as a textbook by the West Point Military Academy. This copy of the German edition is from the library of the Swedish-Finnish architect, engineer and town planner Georg Theodor Chiewitz (1815-1862).

A very good copy with light, unobtrusive surface wear and a tiny, weak corner scuffing; contents very fine. Gift inscription by Strehlneek to B.W. Fleischer Esq. Benjamin Wilfred Fleischer left the USA for Japan in 1907, where he ran the newspaper Japan Advertiser between 1911 and 1930, making it one of the best edited and best connected American newspapers in East Asia.
