"The influence of Roland Barthes on Burgin's work is well documented. Equally, Burgin's prominence as an artist and theorist concerned with text and image offers a productive dialogue with Barthes' work. Victor Burgin has long been considered both theorist and practitioner, while Barthes is more known as a theorist and writer. In bringing to the fore Barthes's practice of painting and drawing, Barthes/Burgin prompts a new critical consideration of Barthes/Burgin, theory/practice, writing/making and criticality/visuality. Director Francois Levy-Kuentz's film uses previously unreleased archival material, such as Klein's personal films, to capture the artist's astonishing career, from its beginning in 1954 to his death in 1962. In those eight short years, Klein turned the modern art world upside down. Besides inventing IKB, he was at the forefront of monochrome paintings, was early to photo manipulation (his most famous, Le Saut dans le Vide, has him flying from a wall, diving).

The story spreads over five pages, one page is the illustration to the story by Marjory Clark (see photo). Complete magazine, in all 112 pages. Cover is very worn rubbed and with pieces missing to edges and corners ((see photos), else inside a good solid copy, clean inside and the story is all bright and well preserved. A rare original vintage Seventeen Magazine issue with a rare first publication of Sylvia Plath's short story "Initiation". The story - at page 64 - that earned the author second prize in the magazine's Short Story Contest; includes a cameo portrait of the young Plath, and a short notice, "Sylvia Plath, reviewing her long friendship with us, says '...at fifteen and sixteen, I got rejection slips! Then, my first acceptance at the appropriate age of seventeen. Now the swan song in the form of a second prize!' A moral here, we think, for all contributors." Very scarce, early appearance from the poet and author.

Michael Asher (born in 1943), one of the foremost installation artists of the Conceptual art period, is a founder of site-specific practice. - "The first book-length study of this influential artist's work, focusing on the participatory role of the human subject rather than the art object.
