Antikvariat Faust

American Mathematical Society, Providence 1972. (2), 121 pp. Printed wrapper. Owner signature. Fine condition.

Summary:In 1955, Alexander Grothendieck introduced the class of Banach spaces now called Grothendieck spaces. These spaces are now known to play a substantial role in the classification theory of Banach spaces. The purpose of this work is to study systematically a set of closed vector subspaces--Grothendieck subspaces--and to develop a theory of best approximation in these sets.
