Fint exemplar av denna sällsynta katalog, bunden i ett klotryggsband där pärmarna klätts med tapet vars mönster skapades av Uno Åhrén för Hemutställningen; de tryckta omslagen medbundna (det främre med liten bläckfläck nedtill). Katalogen över den legendariska Hemutställningen, ett genombrott för Slöjdföreningens yngre och radikalare falang. Utställningen föregicks av en tävling i tre klasser: 1. Enkelrum med kakelugnsspis, 2. Bostadskök med ett rum, 3. Två rum och kök. Ytterligare tävlingar tillkom om ugnar, spisar och kaminer, samt om nya bohagsting. Fotografierna visar rum skapade och inredda av Uno Åhrén, Carl Malmsten, Gunnar Asplund (bostadskök) och Ernst Spolén (kök), ugnar av Asplund och Ragnar Hjorth, bohagsföremål av porslin, glas och metall av Wilhelm Kåge, Edgar Böckman, Edvard Hald, Simon Gate, Edvin Ollers, Eva Jancke-Björk, Hakon Ahlberg, Paul Hedqvist, Folke Bensow, och Jacob Ängman, samt ritningar till arbetarbostäder av Gunnar Asplund.

A Royal presentation copy of the sumptuously produced catalogue, inscribed by Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf, February 1949. Yuan 1615. When Gustaf Adolf ascended the throne shortly before his 68th birthday in 1950, much of his life as Crown Prince had been devoted to the assembling of an important collection of ancient Chinese pottery and other art objects.

Inscribed by the author. No. 231 of an edition limited to 500 copies. Scarce, classic dictionary of the gold- and silversmiths and jewellers of Saint Petersburg 1714-1870.

Contemporary half brown morocco, top edges gilt, bindings slightly rubbed but a very good set with fine, clean plates. Descriptions and carefully drawn elevations, perspectives, details and plans illustrating twenty-five French buildings from the 15th-18th centuries including Le Vau's Hôtel Lambert in Paris and other prominent houses and major Châteux.

Stuttgart 1929. 29x23. VII+128 pp. Ca 300 photos and renderings and 75 plans, sections, etc. Publisher's gilt-lettered cloth. An influential work on modern architecture, with an introduction that put the new style firmly in a line of descent from selected aspects of 19th-century designs and gave importance to he Expressionists and the Amsterdam school at a time when their reputations were declining. The introduction is followed by an 158-page survey of buildings designed by Bruno Taut, his brother Max, Mendelsohn, Döcker, Gropius, Mies, Scharoun, Häring, Ernst May, Josef Frank, Josef Hoffmann, van der Vlugt, Oud, Rietveld, Bohuslav Fuchs, Le Corbusier, Lurçat, Mallet-Stevens, and others. A truncated version in English, without the plans and sections, was published in the same year.

Paris 1933. 24x16. 92 pp. 40 photos, designs and plans. Pictorial wrappers. A very good copy with minor traces of handling and light wear to backstrip. First edition of the Crusade, or the Twilight of the Academies. Le Corbusier was constantly on guard against the academic establishment, and this crusade against academism and traditionalism may be regarded as a response to the prolonged campaign against Le Corbusier mounted by the 'Art National' journal published by the Association des Architectes Anciens Combattants.

Bound in one volume, half red leather, top edge gilt A beauiful copy of Böttiger's descriptive catalogue of pictorial tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries in private Swedish collections.

Svartvita fotografier tagna av De Geer framför allt åren 1965-1975. Först 2004 kom Med kameran som tröst, del 2 i form av en dokumentärfilm som visades på Folkets Bio i Stockholm.

Publisher's gilt-decorated semi-limp cloth, printed mylar jacket. A very fine copy, with small chipping and edge rift in the jacket; the binding and contents in excellent condition.

Stuttgart, Julius Hoffmann, (1913). 40x29. 4 pp. + 45 plates with ca 200 photographs of façade details and ornaments, portals, church decoration, etc. Loose as issued in publisher's half cloth portfolio. Light wear to the boards, contents fine. A photographic documentation of architectural ornamernt by the sculptor, goldsmith and art teacher Karl Gross (1869-1934). Gross contributed to the development of the German Jugendstil, and was involved in the ornamental design of numerous churches in Dresden. From 1914 he was Director of the Staatliche Akademie für Kunstgewerbe (from which he retired in 1933 as his ideals were confronted with the cultural politics of the Nazi regime).

Dresden 1912. 2 leaves (title and list of plates) + 60 plates (48x35) with ca 60 elevations and perspectives and 75 site, house and flat plans; + 48 pp. textbook (28x22) with 33 photos and designs, in printed wrappers. Plates loose as issued, together with the textbook in a pictorial cloth-backed portfolio. An attractive collection of designs for courtyard tenement-blocks, mainly contributions by Dresden architects to a competition announced by the Saxonian Heimatschutz, also illustrating some other schemes including terraced house designs by Bruno Möhring.

Paris, Morel, (1860)-1874. 58x42. VIII; + VI; + VI pp. + engraved frontispiece + 354 engraved plates + folding engraved map. Loose as issued, kept in three fine green/black cloth portfolios with gilt-lettered spines and tie-strings. The map is browned, one title leaf is chipped (not affecting text), otherwise fine. A monumental collection of elevations, sections, perspectives and plans of buildings in Rome, from Renaissance to latter day Classicism. Letarouilly, a pupil of Percier, first traveled to Italy in 1820 and began his sketches then. The published collection was widely consulted by the Classicist Revival architects in France and abroad. A text volume was published separately and is not present in this set.

Upplagans storlek varierade kraftigt mellan 500 ex. (4, 8) och som mest 2000 ex. (3). Vargen var en stencillerad tidskrift med material som tillställdes redaktionen gratis eller hämtades ur andra tidskrifter och böcker, såväl som teckningar och collage av Carsten Regild samt texter av Rolf Börjlind och Jan Olof Mallander (för de två första numren ingick Mallander och Olle Granath i redaktionen). Ett minnesvärt inslag i Nr 3 är enkätsvaren till fyra frågor som skickades till bl.a. Erik Dietman, Harry Schein, Allan Fagerström, Kjell Alinge, Lars Gyllensten, Kerstin Vinterhed, Torbjörn Säfve och Mikael Wiehe. Nr 4 utgörs av 49 kopior av ett kedjebrev på engelska, där man under parollen Occupy the brain! bjuder in folk från hela världen att skicka in material (med ett första blad som återger texten på svenska), och Nr 5 innehåller bilder och texter som inkom från 24 länder, däribland svenska bidrag av bl.a. Jarl Ingvarsson, Bengt af Klintberg, Anna-Clara Tidholm, Ulf Lundell och Bruno K. Öijer. I Nr 6 är alla texter på engelska, även dem av Börjlind, Eric Fylkeson, Bruno K. Öijer, Bengt Emil Johnson, C F Reuterswärd, Ulf Linde, Olle Granath, och andra svenskar varav flera skulle bidra till Vargens utställning på Moderna Museet i November 1975. Nr 7 utgör katalog till utställningen (Moderna Museets kat. nr 132), och Nr 8 består av bidrag av besökare på utställningen, som framställdes på den tryckutrustning som fanns till hands där.

Scarce, magnificently produced study and documentation of Turkish, Arabian and Persian illuminated manuscripts in the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris.

Lausanne 1929. 33x25. II+56 p. including three leaves which are etchings by Clément. Half orange morocco, orange printed wrappers bound in. Offset from plates and other scattered foxing onto text leaves, not affecting the etchings. Printed on handmade paper, edges uncut. No. 274 of an edition limited to 500 copies (one of 150 copies reservés aux éditions Au sans Pareil, à Paris). The Swiss-born artist Charles Clément was a co-founder and illustrator of the satirical and pacifist journal l'Arbalète published in Lausanne. In 1927 he left Switzerland to settle in Paris.
