Bound with upper and lower wrapper for both volumes. Top edges cut and sprinkled. Else nearly uncut. All plates, illustrations and maps bound at rear in both volumes. The paper over boards with some surface loss. A near fine copy with clean interior and mint maps. PROVENANCE: Danish dentist and bibliophile Jens Jørgen Pindborg [1921-1995], with his bookplates loosely laid in at rear of both volumes. “Fram over Polhavet” is normally seen in publisher’s decorated cloth or in parts or. The two-volume wrappers differ from the parts with that there is no part no. printed on the wrapper. We have never before registered this book in its original two-volume wrappers. The interior is 0,7cm taller and 1cm wider than what is normally seen in the publisher’s binding. Very rare!
