First edition (Philosophische Forschungsberichte Heft 13).Dubislav was joint founder (with Hans Reichenbach and Kurt Grelling) of the 'Berlin Society for Empirical (later: Scientific) Philosophy' (Berliner Gesellschaft für empirische Philosophie), which, along with the Vienna Circle, is one of the points of origin of logical empiricism. The founding members of the Berlin Circle were listed as sympathisers within the Vienna Circle.Dubislav focused on a logical and mechanistic foundation of mathematics and physics, influenced by Bernard Bolzano's "Theory of Science" (Wissenschaftslehre). He presented a formalised account of Gottlob Frege's theory of definitions.

First printing of one of the first papers dealing with the photography of the sun. De La Rue invented the "photoheliograph" for the Kew observatory, and by means of it the first solar light-pictures of real value were taken. The conclusions arrived at by photographic means at Kew were communicated to the Royal Society in a series of papers drawn up jointly by De la Rue, Balfour Stewart, and Benjamin Loewy. They influenced materially the progress of thought on the subject they were concerned with and initiated astrophysics.

Zeeman's paper: pp. 1444-1445. First French version of this importent paper in which Zeeman observed for the first time the splitting of the spectral lines into doublets and triplets. Here we have the first appearance of a charged particle much lighter than an atom, the first glimpse at the electron."In the spring of 1897, after his move to the University of Amsterdam, Zeeman resolved a magnetically "broadened" spectral line into the triplet of distinct polarized components that the Lorentz theory predicted for a sufficiently intense magnetic field. This in a very real sense was the peak of the Zeeman-Lorentz investigation of the Zeeman effect."(DSB).
