Ca 100 plans, renderings, photos, etc. Publisher's cloth-backed boards with gilt design and lettering, inner hinges neatly strengthened. Saarinen's plan for the extension of Helsinki by the foundation of the satellite community Munkkiniemi-Haaga. Saarinen's most extensive town planning scheme, it is extremely thorough and comprises - in addition to the carefully drawn plan - a detailed study of the townscape with models and designs for a variety of building types. The scheme got a wide publicity but before realisation had begun, the state of economy changed radically and only fragments of the plan were realised.

Presented to Louis XIV at the age of seventeen, Pierre Germain became the first notable member of the distinguished Germain family of Parisian silversmiths.
