Loose as issued in original portfolio with title-label on upper cover. The portfolio is damaged and covers are detached. The etchings are in very good condition. Views from Venice. Oskar Graf (1873-1958) was a German art nouveau painter and printmaker who worked in Munich. Publihed in a limited edition of 53 copies, this is no. 26.

Åren 1756-66 pågick en debatt mellan J G Wahlbom och Olof Acrel om vilken metod man skulle använda vid starrstickning. Akademien kopplade in Roland Martin som skiljedomare. Denna strid och skriftväxling publicerades sedermera i denna skrift som innehåller 4 skrifter av Wahlbom, 3 av Acrel och 2 av Martin. Med dedikation från Roland Martin till "Archiater Engelund [?]"

Beautiful green morocco, gilt spine, gilt egdes and borders, ruled throughout, bound by Thouvenin. Worn corners, small scratchings and some minor soilings to rear board. Minor later annotations on the fly leaf, which has a small tear to inner margin. With two small pasted listings from auction catalogues. Page numbers vaguely written by hand until p. 150. From the library of Thore Virgin with his name on fly leaf. A very nice copy of the rare edition.

Contemporary full calf with sprinkled edges, sparsely gilt spine label and spine, the spine with five raised bands. Spine and boards slightly rubbed, paste down endpaper with neat, contemporary inscription. Interior with one sheet loose, page 7 of the first part of Opera oratoria with paper loss at lower corner, part 2 with professionally repaired tear on page 117, interior else with a couple of tiny spots and creases, else fine. Johannn Daniel Schöpflin (1694-1771), was a professor of history, rhetoric and law at the university of Strasbourg. Schöpflin was also a teacher of Goethe during the years of 1770 and 1771. All in all a well-kept volume with both parts of Schöpflin's Opera oratoria bound together with his study of celtic languages, Vindiciae celticae.

Omslagen nötta, bakre omslaget med nagg i övre hörnet, främre falsen med revor om ca 4 respektive 6 cm intill rygghuvud och -fot. Inlagan genomgående tämligen kraftigt lagerfläckad, övre marginalen med liten genomgående fläck. Sidan 15 med liten nagg i nedre hörnet, sidan 47 med reva om ca 2,5 cm i marginalen, sidorna 59-62 lite hårt skurna i nedre marginalen. Niels Prahls danska original utkom första gången 1767, ett flertal svenska upplagor utkom mellan åren 1777 och 1822. Ovanlig.

Spine and boards heavily rubbed, head of spine partly cracked. Interior with some faint, occasional dampstaining in the lower margin. Early (first?) edition of this anonymously published libertine novel sometimes ascribed to Antonio Gavin. Last page faultily paginated as page 446. Scarce. With two copies of the same engraved title-leaf, one at the beginning of the first part of the book, one at the beginning of the second part.

Front board with Swedish book collector Hjalmar Lundgren's gilt monogram, paste-down endpaper with Lundgren's book-plate. Spine and joints slightly rubbed, lower corners slightly bumped, title-leaf and adjacent leaf with small ink spot, interior else fine. With parallell text in Latin and French. With Count Carl Gustaf Tessin's signature on the title-leaf. Carl Gustaf Tessin (1695-1770), son of architect Nicodemus Tessin the Younger and Hedvig Eleonora Stenbock, was a Swedish diplomat and politician. Apart from being one of the most prominent figures in Swedish political and cultural life of his time, he was also an avid art and book collector whose art collection laid the foundation of the collections of Nationalmuseum.
