London, Hodder& Stoughton 1909 30,5x25 cm. 105 leaves. With 25 tipped-in colour plates by Edward J. Detmold. Publisher's white cloth, gilt decorations on upper cover and spine. Covers soiled and stained, lower part of spine skilfully repaired, first and last leaves a bit foxed at upper part, otherwise a very good copy. Printed in a limited edition of 750 copies, this is no. 393. This edition have two more plates than the trade edition.

A bit worn and extremely bulging, preserved in a fold-over cloth box, labelled "M.S.S. revision copy Fox-Davies". AUTHOR'S WORKING COPY. Author's own copy with many manuscript additions and corrections and profusely extra illustrated with seals, cigarette cards, pencil sketches and tracings in his own hand, embossed crests, newspaper cuttings, illustrations on silk, booklets, autograph letters, etc, etc.

Upsaliae, Werner 1709. (16), 144 s. + graverad frontespis. Träsnitt i texten. Samtida pergamentband. Fint skick. Hyllningsdikten är inbunden i slutet av detta ex. Med Julius Lagerholms exlibris. Detta är Hoorns skildring av den anatomiska demonstrationen i Uppsala 1705. Hoorn höll i den tredje delen som avhandlade fortplantningsorganen. Ämnet var ömtåligt så denna, vår kanske första sexualupplysningsbok författades på latin. I texten finns avbildade bl.a. spermier, som Hoorn hade studerat i mikroskop, dessa avbildningar torde vara de första mikroskopbilderna i en svensk bok. Insidan av bakre pärm med Michael Hermonius namnteckning, daterad februari 1709. Hermonius (1680-1749), var präst och satt i riksdagen under flera perioder. Han var student i Uppsala när demonstrationen ägde rum och kanske en av de som var där?

De första 14 sidorna i andra arbetet inbundet i fel ordning, två av dessa blad har smärre marginalskador. En del äldre marginalanteckningar i båda arbetena. En del fläckar i texten men huvudsakligen ett exemplar i gott skick. Insidan av främre pärm med Gustaf Berndtssons exlibris.

Leipzig, Verlag von Quelle & Meyer 1920. First edition. XXX, (2), 776; (4), 698; (4), 778 pp. + a total of 208 pages of photographic plates in black and white + several colour plates and fold-out maps as well as illustrations in the text. Publisher's decorated half-cloth binding. A couple of corners on volumes II and III quite heavily bumped, the front joint of volume III with a couple of tiny holes and some slight rubbing at the lower edge of the front board, else a fine and well-kept set. First edition of this rare work edited by lawyer and politician Heinrich Schnee, the last governor of German East Africa.

Paris, André, Dalu fils & Cie [1878] 41,5x29 cm. Title-leaf, leaf of contents + 80 chromolithograph plates Loose as issued in original worn and damaged portfolio. The spine is replaced by later simple paper spine, the whole portfolio is wrapped in plastic. The plates are in very good condition. These decorative plates depict many different brick buildings, also with many details. This is the second volume of two, the first part also with 80 plates.

Washington, Administrations-Tryckeriets officin 1867. 38 pp. + 1 large folding map of U.S. Publisher's cloth. Map with two rather large tears with old repair with tape, also with a few minor damages at folding, but still overall very good. The map is entitled: “Map of the United States and Territories shewing [sic] the extent of Public Surveys and other detials constructed from the Plats [sic] and other sources of the General Land Office…”; and measures 76x141 cm.

Rouen, Imprimerie de Raphaël du Petit Val 1611. Engraved title, 3-558, (12); 96, 3-94, 3-94, 3-94, (12) pp. Contemporary vellum, spine with trace of handwritten title, remains of ties. Printed title-page to first volume is missing, engraved title is mounted, two leaves with minor damage in the text and loss of a few letters, a few leaves with minor marginal damage, a few stains. Overall a very good copy. Important and rare collection of French 16'th and early 17'th century poetry.

Trajecti ad Rhenum, G. Broedelet 1717 12:o. Engraved title, (10), 355, (83) pp. + 38 engraved double-page and folding maps + 1 folding table. Contemporary vellum. Book-plate. A few maps with small tears but overall a very good copy.

Köpenhamn, L.A. Jørgensens Forlag 1875-1879. Text i 8:o: (4), LI, (3), 838, (2) s. Planschdel i folio: Titelblad + 106 kolorerade planscher ( 61 + 35 + 8 + 2). Samtida halvfranska band, ej uniforma, nötta ryggar, planschdelen mer allmänt nött. Texten och planscherna i rent och fint skick.

N.p. 1620. 4:o. (8), 142, (2) (blank); (12), 143 pp. With 2 engraved historiated title borders and 26 engraved mostly full-page illustrations with multiple subjects. In one, contemporary vellum. Some worming in the beginning and end but only marginal, a few stains, light marginal waterstaines in the beginning and end. A few leaves at end slightly loose and with some marginal wear. One leaf seems to be torn out after title-leaf but it's still complete so maybe it's a leaf thar was mistakingly bound in this copy, or an unknown leaf to this work? Overall a very good copy. The Reformir Spiegel consists of a theological tract followed by five illustrated prophecies, the so-called "132 magic figures." The prophesies are by Paracelsus, a papal prophecy and by Oraeus himself.

London, Chapman and Hall 1870. First edition. VII, (1), 190, (2) + 1 engraved portrait + 1 engraved title leaf + 12 plates + advertisements. Near contemporary (ca 1900) brown and green half morocco binding with lavishly gilt spine with five raised bands, upper edges gilt, other edges deckled, original printed wrappers preserved at the end of the book. Owner's engraved book-plate (Frederic J. Clarke) on paste-down endpaper. Spine somewhat faded, the topmost raised band and the lower corners slightly rubbed. Page 9 with ca 25 x 7 mm triangular chip in the margin, pages 25-28 with tiny tear (ca 8 mm) at the upper edge, pages 29-32 with triangular chip at the upper edge measuring ca 25 x 4 mm. Interior else with some very faint and occasional foxing, else fine. All original printed blue wrappers preserved at the end of the book, back wrapper of booklet no. VI somewhat soiled, wrappers else very well kept. Front wrapper of booklet no. II lacks the full dot after 'II', inside of back wrapper has one word on the last line instead of seven, the advertisements lack the so called 'Cork Hat Slip' which was originally attached at the end of no. II. Front wrapper of booklet no. III lacks the full dot after 'III'. Booklet number V lacks the advertisments at the back, 'Chapman & Hall's Recent Publications'. Booklet no. VI lacks the advertisements at the front ('The Edwin Drood Advertiser') as well as at the back. All other details conform with Hatton & Cleaver's bibliography (pp. 373-383). Originally published in six parts, each with advertisments. Dickens last, unfinished novel beautifully bound in a near contemporary half morocco binding with all original printed blue wrappers preserved.

One of nine I believe published calenders made to be presented as Christmas gifts to friends and clients alike. All published in the forties, now all very rare. Printed in a limited edition of 150 copies, this is no. 117.

Contemporary half calf, spines gilt, original printed upper cover mounted on front board of each text-volume, plate-volume with red leather title label on upper cover, spine a bit worn, damaged at foot, first title-page with small waterstain, overall clean. A few pages in vol. 2 with marginal worming and a few pages stained, portrait loosely inserted, but overall a very good set.

Basel, Roth's Verlag 1989. Approx. 240 pp. Illustrations only. Two volumes bound together with an interconnecting butterfly wrapper, as issued. Cardboard slipcase with stamped message. Published in 500 copies, 50 are numbered and signed. This copy is Hors de commerce.
