Dresden, VEB Verlag der Kunst, (1974). 64x48. 33 facsimile plates + portrait photo plate + 2 leaves with lists of plates in English, French, Spanish and Russian + 42 pp. textbook in smaller size. Plates and lists of plates loose as issued, kept together with the textbook in publisher's cardboard box. The box neatly repaired, contents excellent.. Large-format facsimile reproductions of thirty Heartfield posters and other political photo collages from 1924-1938 and three from 1955-60, when possible reproduced from the original photomontages, otherwise from published versions. The textbook (bilingual in English and German) contains introduction by Gertrude Heartfield and notes on the reproduced montages by Walter Wimmer.

The Bertini catalogue is printed on one folding sheet (44x64 unfolded) with a large colour reproduction on one side; the Balla, Fritz Winter, and Mafai catalogues are each printed on a folding card sheet; all others are bound with their original printed/pictorial wrappers.

Ca 145 reproductions and photos, 35 full-page, 27 in colour including 15 full-page. Publisher's gilt-lettered cloth, dust jacket, very fine. Text by Josep Palau I Fabre, Daniel-Henry Kahnweiler, Raymond Cogniat, Jean-Louis Ferrier, Yvon Taillandier, Dore Ashton, Gaëtan Picon, Roland Penrose, and others.

Berlin, Wasmuth, (1893). 48x32. 24 pp. + 53 plates (numbered 1-60 incl. 7 folding double-plates) with 13 photographs and ca 100 drawings. Loose as issued in a half cloth portfolio with tie-strings. A large-format documentation of altars, pulpits, confessionals, choir stalls, baptismal fonts, organs etc. from Gothic to 19th century in German churches.

Charlottenburg, Verlag "Das Plakat", 1919. 24x18. 50 pp. (including six pages with reproductions of entire leaflets in black, red and green) + 22 plates including twelve colour reproductions of posters, five reproductions of pamphlet covers (five coloured), and four reproductions of drawings and woodcuts by Lyonel Feininger et al. from the 1919 publication "An alle Künstler". Printed wrappers with colour illustration by Cesar Klein. Backstrip slightly worn with minor loss, otherwise a fine copy. Socialist posters and pamphlet covers by German Expressionists: Max Pechstein, Cesar Klein, Heinz Fuchs, Willy Jaeckel, Heinrich Richter-Berlin, Wilhelm Plünecke, and A. M. Cay (pseudonym for Alexander M. Kaiser). Text by Adolf Behne (Alte und neue Plakate), Paul Landau (Flugblatt und Flugschrift) and Herbert Löwing (Warum sozialistische Propaganda?).

Stockholm 1877. 25x18. VI+162 pp. Printed wrappers, neat later backstrip, old library stamps on front wrapper and title page; otherwise a good copy of a scarce landmark publication. The catalogue of the first major exhibition arranged by Svenska Slöjdföreningen, the Swedish Decorative Arts Association founded in 1845. This was the first Swedish enterprise of its kind, a loan exhibition comprising more than 2000 objects from private collections, categorised into ceramics (the most substantial section), metal work, glass ware, furniture and woodwork, clocks and watches, and enamels, selected by a committe under the guidance of Gustaf Upmark. The descriptive catalogue, edited by Ludvig Looström, was the first Swedish scientific catalogue of applied art. It was not published until after the exhibition was opened, but does not include all objects, some of which were added during the course of the exhibition.
