In Sweden he held lectures at four universities in 1904 and after that Sweden passed a nature conservation law. In 1906 Prussia instituted the ""Staatliche Stelle für Naturdenkmalspflege"", which was to be led by Conwentz. Already in the next coming years the first nature reserve in Northern Germany was established on the initiative of forester Max Kienitz.
