London, R. Edwards 1817. IV, (4), 411 pp. + 1 folding engraved hand-coloured map + 9 engraved hand-coloured plates. Contemporary mottled calf, spine gilt. Joints partly a bit weak, but sound, minor wear, one leaf with small damage to margin. Overall a clean and attractive copy. First and only edition of this study of not only Alger but most part of northern Africa. History, religion, manners and customs are extensively described.

Leiden, Brill 1954-2005. New edition. Contains 400 plates and other illustrations. The first 11 volumes in fascicules (no. 1-188) with printed wrappers, loose in publisher's cloth covers (for binding), the rest with printed wrappers. An almost complete set of the monumental encyclopaedia of almost all aspects of the world of islam.

Stockholm 1920. 32x23 cm. 166, (2) (noter), (2) s. + 9 planscher med monterade fotogravyrer med skyddspapper + 1 originaletsning av Carl Larsson, signerad av Karin Larsson. Med 39 monterade planscher med skyddspapper (huvudsakligen fotogravyrer av Goodwin). Praktfullt samtida skinnband med ryggförgyllning, pärmdekorationer i guld, svart och rött, övre guldsnitt, inre denteller, i skinnskodd och fodrad kassett. Tyvärr saknas Carl Larsson-etsningen i detta exemplar. Ryggen aningen nött, kassetten defekt nedtill, tillskrift på en av de första blanka bladen. Huvudsakligen ett mycket fint exemplar. Tryckt i 200 numrerade exemplar, detta är nr. 147.

s'Gravenhage, Barent Beeck 1691 Engraved title, (8), 136 pp. + 62 engraved plates (of which 4 are folding). Contemporary vellum, covers warped, losening a little from back cover, pages from 112 to end and last 14 plates stained, some heavy. William III (1650-1702), was sovereign Prince of Orange from birth, Stadtholder of Holland, Zeeland, Utrecht, Gelderland, and Overijssel in the Dutch Republic from 1672, and King of England, Ireland, and Scotland from 1689. This book is about the fantastic ceremonies organized on the occasion of William's arrival to the Hague in 1691. A rare work.

Paris, Mathieu Guillemot 1643-1644. Folio. Engraved frontispiece, (22), 204; engraved frontispiece, 104, (4), 105-196 pp. + 4 plate-pages. With numerous illustrations in the text. Modern calf, old covers laid down. Partly with water stain and some other staining, first four leaves repaired in upper margin, still mostly good.

Engraved frontispiece, engraved title, (34), 60, (14), 352, 351-477, (21) (irregular pagination) pp. Modern half calf. Frontispiece and title repaired, two leaves with marginal waterstain, one leaf with small marginal repair, a few stains but still overall a very good copy.

Paris, S. de Bonadona [ca. 1930] 25x32,5 cm. Title, introduction/ table des planches + 48 plates (of which 27 are pochoir in colour). Loose as issued in publisher's cloth-back covers with ties. Spine worn, joints damaged, introduction leaf with smal tear, otherwise very good. A charming work showing the exteriors and interiors of different shops of that time. Plate 32 is erroneously numbered 47 which is confirmed by an small printed errata note.

Publisher's printed blue wrappers with blue cloth backstrip. Publisher's printed blue wrappers are lacking from parts 1,2, 10, 13, 14, 15, 18 and 19-20, parts 3 and 7 are lacking the printed rear wrappers. All these wrappers have been substituted with plain, blue wrappers which all seem to be contemporary with and of the same colour and quality as the printed wrappers with no obvious sign of having been replaced at a later point, but rather with the impression of being a contemporary variant binding. Parts 1,3,4, 7, 14, 15, 18, 19-20 are lacking the advertisements at the front as well as the back. Part 2 lacks the "notice of removal slip", part 5 lacks the "Crochet cotton" slip, part 9 lacks the "Household Words" slip as well as pages 1-6 of the commercials at the back of the issue, part 10 lacks pages 1-2 and 15-16 of the advertisements at the front, other advertisements differ from the ones mentioned by Hatton & Cleaver. Part 11 lacks pages 11-14 of the advertisements at the front as well as all the advertisements at the back, part 12 lacks the "Crochet cotton" slip, part 13 lacks the "Grace Aguilar's Works" slip at the back, part 16 lacks the "Grace Aguilar's Works" slip at the back as well. Part 10 lacks plate 17 ("Visitors at the Shooting Gallery"), parts 19-20 lack the plates 37-40. Half-title, title and dedication leaves are bound with part 1 rather than with part 19-20 as described by Hatton & Cleaver, as are also the preface, contents and list of plates. One sheet loose (page 1 of the advertisements at the front) of part 2) and with ca 5 cm tear, covers as well as interiors generally well preserved throughout apart from a few chips and tears and some slight, occasional soiling; plates are heavily foxed throughout, though. (Hatton & Cleaver, p. 275-304). First edition of Bleak House, issued in 20 numbers bound in 19 monthly parts, parts 19-20 published jointly as a doublenumber. This set with some of the printed covers substituted with plain, blue wrappers and quite a few other deviations from the collation in Hatton & Cleavers bibliography (p. 275-304), see specification.

XII, V-XLIV, 458, (2); VIII, 432; VIII, 374; VIII, 413, (3) pp. + engraved frontispiece portrait of Cook + 66 engraved plates and maps (mostly folding). Bound i 2 volumes, contemporary half calf, spines richly gilt, marbled edges. Spines worn and partly damaged, joints partly cracked, a few small tears to a few plates, a few plates stained in lower margin but overall very good inside. Unfortunately two leaves in the beginning of vol.1 are missing: "Avis au relieur", otherwise complete. Vol. 5: "Observations faites pendant le second voyage de M. Cook... sur la géographie, l'histoire naturelle et la philosophie morale... par M. Forster père..." is not present here.

Verona, F. Conz - Asolo 1979. 50x34,5 cm. Title-leaf, 1 text-leaf + 20 hand-coloured silkscreens on paper, all numbered and signed. Loose as issued in publisher's fall-down-back box. All plates within protecting leaves. Box with some light soil, otherwise near fine. Printed in 145 copies of which 100 are numbered with arabic numbers, this is no. 31. Signed, numbered and stamped by Larry Miller. Loosely added to this copy is a ms letter from the publisher Francesco Conz to Bengt af Klintberg.

Holmiae, L. Salvius 1771. (6), 143-588 pp. Later, green stiff paper covers, front hinge loose, occasional foxing and staining but overall still very good. Old inscription and ink stain on title-page, also old ownership-stamp on title-page: C.F. Halldin, pharmacist in Båstad 1833-1839. Very rare and only edition of the "second Mantissa", published separately, with title-leaf. It was meant to be a supplement to the "Species Plantarum".

Stockholm, Lars Salvius 1751. Första upplagan, första tryckningen. (10), XIV, 434, (34) s. + 6 graverade utvikbara planscher + 1 utvikbar graverad karta. Träsnitt i texten. Senare halvfranskt band, lite nött, främre pärm lite stukad. Delvis lite hårt skuren, paginering eller överskrift påverkade på ett fåtal sidor. Ett blad med brännhål och förlust av text. Annars ett rent och fint exemplar. Detta är den första tryckningen, med texten om "Svedjor istället för "Gödselen" på s. 26.

Contemporary full mottled calf, spines gilt, in later very professional slip-cases, two are a little bit tight. Spines worn, joints weak, corner to one leaf in vol. 5 torn, occasional foxing but overall still a very good and clean set. Half titles are present in vol. 2-6.

Paris, Éditions Albert Morancé [1938] 27x22 cm. (28) pp. + 4 plates. Illustrated in the text. + 40 plates (of which 5 are colour pochoirs and 4 colour lithographs). Two volumes held in a cloth-backed pictorial portfolio with ribbon ties. The text volume has original cover but without text to upper cover. Spine of portfolio partly damaged, worn at extremeties. Text and plates in very good condition.

Elizabeth Town, Shepard Kollock 1789. First edition. XII, 534, (4) pp. + 2 folding engraved plates. Contemporary half calf, spine richly gilt, red edges. Small tear to one map, one leaf with small repair to upper margin, slightly darkened to foot of spine. Overall a very clean and attractive copy.Book-plates. The rare first American geography, and an important early American cartographical work.

Peking, Jung Pao Chai, Publishers 1955. 31x21,5 cm. (4) ll of text + 80 colour plates. 2 volumes bound chinese-style in purple wraps, enclosed in a patterned blue brocade folding box with ivory clasps. First blank page in one of the volumes with gift inscription. A near fine copy. Made by the famous publisher in honor of the 91st year of the painter Ch'i P'ai-shih.

Den Danske Radeerforening af 1853 [1977-1980] Portfolio 50,5x41,5 cm. With 18 coloured graphic contributions on different papers. Artworks in different sizes, all with protective tissue-guards. Loose plates as issued in publisher's portfolio. A very good set. With artworks by: Eric Andersen, Joseph Beuys, George Brecht, Henning Christiansen (2 objects), Robert Filliou, Ludwig Gosewitz, Al Hansen, Per Kirkeby, Bengt af Klingberg, Alison Knowles, Bjørn Norgaard, Nam June Paik, Tomas Schmit, Daniel Spoerri, Ben Vautier, Wolf Vostell and Bob Watts.

Loindon, Chapman and Hall, (1838-40) 12mo. VIII, 80 pp. & 6 plates + VIII, 76, (4=advertisement) & 6 plates + 92, (4=advertisement) pp. & 6 plates. Three titles in a beautiful contemporary binding by Zaehnsdorf (signed). Full morocco with five raised bands, green and black title labels, exquisite gold decorated spine and inner dentelles. Upper edge in gilt, front and lower uncut. The rare covers are preserved. Binding showing some wear to spine and joints, the boards with slight shelf wear. A very nice copy.

Trace of wrapper glued to inside covers of all three volumes, two leaves in vol. 2 detached. Half-titles, called for part 2 and 3 are not present here. The English edition predates the American edition.

London, Art for All 1970. 37,5x25 cm. 1 leaf, printed on one side, letterpress and line block print, on dyed and individually burnt paper. With the artists' copyright inkstamp. The leaf folded three times, contained in original letterpress envelope, adressed to a former head of the Moderna Museet, Stockholm. A very good copy.

Contemporary half calf, title gilt on red oval gilt label on upper covers. Spine worn and partly damaged, joints cracked, upper cover of vol. 1 detached. Covers worn at extremeties. A few plates, slightly foxed but plates overall in very good condition. One text-leaf detached and one text-leaf repaired in margin. The extra lithographed half-titles are not present here. A rare pomological work published in 4 parts with a total of 191 plates. These two parts depict mainly pears but also apples, grapes, plum and peach.
