Small hole after insect attack to the upper board of vol. I. A bit of rubbing, stains and wear to the bindings. Interior with some leves a bit browned. * Interesting set: The set consists of various editions of the works, some dated 1735, a few dated 1762. It seems that the publisher have used some unsold copies of the 1735 edition, to which he has added some recently printed 1762 parts to fill the gaps.

Light soiling to front pastedown of volume one. Good. * Aside from its importance as a key in the literature of the Franklin mystery, Kanes narrative, with its valuable geographic and scientic information, is one of the great books of artic exploration and the search for the Northwest Passage. It contains much information about the Eskimos. E. K. Name cut out of the titleleaf. * First part by Julius Caesar Scaliger [1484-58], Italian humanist and polyhistor. Second part is Sophocles, translated by Scaliger's son Joseph Justus Scaliger [1540-1609] was a professor of Classical literature at the university of Leiden.

Lidt plettet her og der. Lille skjold i marginen på titelbladet. * Præsentabelt eksemplar af den første beskrivelse af Skagen. Grundig og detaljeret, i Oplysningstidens stil. Plancherne omfatter bl.a. en gengivelse af de lumske grunde ud for Grenen samt et prospekt af det murede, endnu eksisterende (gamle) fyr.

Good+. * Works of art from Benin, West Africa 'obtained' - or rather taken by force during the punitive expedition in 1897 after the unsuccesful attempt of annexing the kingdom.
