Some foxing throughout. * American edition, based on the first British 1847 edition, including 'The Fir Tree', 'The Snow Queen' and 'The Red Shoes'. Otto Speckter's illustrations were highly regarded by H.C. Andersen, who often remarked that they were the most brilliant available.

A bit of foxing to the titleleaf and the first XVI pages, but the rest of the bok is remarkably nice and clean. * First book edition, first issue with the points called for: 'elgble' on page 19 & 'chair' for 'hair'on page 209, 'counsinship' to page 275 line 22, and 'picter' to page 529 line 32.

Old name to titleleaf [Runner, Bremen]. * Beautiful book on Order of the Bath, the British insignia founded by George I in 1725.

A. Rasmussens Bogtrykkeri, Ringkjøbing 1943. (68 sider). Indbundet uopskåret med orig. kartonomslag in et rødt papirbind med rygtitelfelt af sort skind. Slid på udvendige false og kapitæler. * Med stor dedikation, hele smudstitelbladet, fra Kaj Munk. ** Blædel 34. Marcussen 33. Godt eksemplar af Kaj Munks sidste bog, der på grund af de skærpede forhold i Danmark efter 29. august 1943 kun blev udgivet for en meget begrænset kreds i form af dette korrekturtryk. Publikationen angives at have et oplag på 500 eksemplarer. Munk-bibliografen Ove Marcussen oplyser, at satsen var klar 7. september 1943, men blev styrtet allerede to dage senere, efter at der kun var lavet en snes eksemplarer. Antallet vides ikke sikkert.

Noget gulplettet. * Værket skriver sig ind i den svenske stormagtstids bestræbelser på at koble forestillingerne om et vældigt götisk sagnrige med de bevarede skriftlige kilder, herunder islandske sagaer.

Name on titlepage. * Reprint of Scapula's condensation of Henri Estienne's Thesaurus, first published in 1580 and reissued several times during the 17th century.

The binding is still sound, but rather worn with parts of the leather missing on the corners and at the top of the spine. Binding also somewhat rubbed. The copy has a handwritten translation of the title of each entry written in Danish 18th century hand. * Amusing work with no less than 630 copperplate engravings depicting and descriping all sorts of poetic elements, such as Envy, Greed, Nymphes, Love, Superstition, Immortality and no the less than six different types of Amour. This copy includes the sometimes removed article on Adultery.

No spine title. Some edgewear. First woodcut titleleaf with a restoration to the lower part [not affecting the woodcut] and two old stamps. Second woodcut titleleaf with a cut-out, restored with hand drawing in old hand, as well as various old name, one dated 1594 [Nicolaus Forssaeus Andelocen]. Small holes to the margin of the last leaf, not affecting text. * Two parts [of five] of Robert Estienne's great Cicero edition from 1538-39.

Slight foxing. 4 leaves of text with a waterstain. Bookplate on front pastedown in each volume. * Paul Gavarni was the pseudonym of Sulpice Guillaume Chevalier (1804-66). The 2 volumes consist of 12 series of amusing litographed caricature cartoons of life in Paris and among the Parisians.

Contemporary full calf bindings, expertly rebacked with spine in six compartments with blindtooled ornaments. The old boards somewhat rubbed and stained. Corners worn. Endpapers renewed. Small tear to the lower corner of p. 123 of volume I, well outside text. * Nice edition of the works of James Thomson [1700-48] is now mainly known for his patriotic ode 'Rule, Britannia' from his play on Alfred the Great.

Bound in a fine contemporary binding of red morocco with richly gilt spine, outside and inside borders, all three edges gilt and endpapers of green silk (Lefevre). Lower corners slightly bumped. Slight foxing. * Fine binding from the Napoleonic era. An Italian tribute to Napoleon who then had been master of Italy since 1797.

Repair also to upper and lower edges of front board. Mild darkening to endpapers mirroring binding material. Small, later notes in pencil to front endpapers. Twentieth century sheet with typed description of the book inserted to verso of front free endpaper. A couple of small dog-ears. Tip of lower corner of page 453/454 cut off. * Gabriele Zinano (or Zinani) 1557- ca. 1634/35.

Lidt kantslitage. * Joachim Daniel Preisler (1755-1809), der var søn af den store kobberstikker Johan Preisler, valgte til familiens store ærgrelse teatervejen. I 1788 blev han af direktionen på Det kongelige Teater sendt på en studietur til Tyskland og Frankrig - året før revolutionen.

Illustré de dix-sept eaux-fortes originales par Frédéric Jacque. Ferroud/Benezit-Constant, Paris No date [1891]. 4to. (4)+164+(4) pages. Bound untrimmed in a contemporary black half marocco binding. Only slight traces of use. Interior is nice and clean, except for a darkening by a small paper strip that has been laid in between the verso of the half title and the verso of the frontespiece portrait. * * Number 260 of 500 copies printed on Papier de Hollande (of a total of 550 copies in all). Beautiful etchings.

Two parts in one binding. Georg Ritter v. Mösle, Wien 1815. 244+438 pages + 27 foldable plates [complete]. Bound in a nice, contemporary half calf binding. Stamp to the titleleaf [sold from a Danish military library]. Near fine. * Nice and extensive work on military drills. Anton, Freyherrn von Zach [1747-1826] was born in Pest, and was part of the Austrian defeat against the French at the Battle of Marengo in 1800m, where he was captured by Napoleon. His further participation in the Napoleonic wars weren't exactly flashing, but he certainly could drill his soldiers!

Indbundet i et smukt helbind af grønt gedeskind med rygforhøjninger og dekorativ rammeforgyldning på begge permer og ryggen. Med tresidet guldsnit og indvendig forgyldt bordure. Bindet sign. G. Hedberg, Stockholm. Et par cm. af den højre del af forpermen ganske let falmet. Lille skramme på bagpermen. * Godt eksemplar.

Stemplerne på bind 1-2 varierer ubetydeligt fra de øvrige. Samtidig håndskrevet indholdsfortegnelse på forsats og friblad i bind 1. Fribladet løsnet. Titelfelterne noget krakelerede. * Komplet sæt af Holbergs epistler sammensat af to uniformt indbundne udgaver i kønne samtidige spejlbind. Bind 5 udkom efter Holbergs død i 1754.

Exlibris (Harald Pedersen). Omslaget med let aldersslitage. Lille samtidig tilskrift på titelbladet. * BFN 320-323. Dejligt eksemplar af førsteudgaven. Indeholder de tre tekster "Lykkens Kalosker", "En rigtig Soldat" og "Det har Zombien gjort". Med denne lille bog, udsendt to og et halvt år efter de første eventyr, lancerede Andersen med "Lykkens Kalosker" sit første eventyr decideret for voksne.
