Vangsgaards Antikvariat
vga923471
J.H. Schultz, København 1825. Stor 8vo. (2)+142+(2) blade. I matchende kassette.

(32)+454+200+(16) sider.

A Amsterdam, Chez Paul dela Feuille, 1711. Slim 8vo [8,5 x 20,5 cm]. (16)+33 foldable maps [complete including a world map and five continent maps]. Bound in a recent, red full morocco binding. A couple of plates with a closed tear along the folding lines. The plate of military equipment with a small tear to the margin, not affecting the plates. Numbering and area handwritten to the back side of the maps. * Very charming small atlas with lavishly hand coloured maps. Tiny plans of the various fortifications of the cities. It was first published in 1709, but this second edition is completely different, as they were published during the War of the Spanish Succession, and most of Europe was in turmoil. A lot of the officers brought this handy travel atlas along with them.

1 typewritten letter in English, dated December 22, 1977. A4 size with Tintin letter head from Studio Hergé. Signed in hand 'Hergé'. Folded twice. * Very charming personal letter from Hergé to Jørgen Sonnergaard, who translated Tintin's adventures to Danish. Sonnergaard had sent Hergé a Comic Section from the New York American as a birthday gift, and the delighted Hergé promised to have it framed for his wall. The reason for Hergé writing in English was that Sonnergaard actually didn't understand French that well, even though he had translated Tintin!

Trykt i det Kongel. Privil. Bibl. Dan. IV,248. Danske provinstryk Od 583.

Large, magnificent communist poster, celebrating the proclamation of the Chinese People's Republic. The poster has been made right after the Chinese revolution, as the iconography of the poster points both forwards (depicting a young looking Chairman Mao) and backwards (as a traditional Chinese parade, still in rather traditional dressing instead of the uniforms and overalls of later Chinese posters). Above the portrait of Mao is shown a map of China with the 1949 borders.
