Photographer, diarist, collector, and writer Peter Beard (1938-2020) fashioned his life into a work of art; the illustrated diaries he kept from a young age evolved into a serious career as an artist and earned him a central position in the international art world.

Numbered by hand 65/200, "Edition speciale". Also with a stamp from "Exposition de peinture Universite de Paris-Sorbonne, 20 octobre-4 novembre 1977". This "Edition speciale" should include 3 signed lithographs which are not present here. The portfolio is rubbed and slightly worn. Textes by Jonas Gavel, Beate Sydhoff and Paul Kirsch. All texts are in English, French and Swedish. Published at the occasion of an exhibition at l'Institut Polonais, Stockholm. The exhibition then traveled to other places in France and USA.

Inlagan delvis lagerfläckad, ett par planscher lite mer. Med Gustaf Berndtssons exlibris. Utgavs häftesvis i två avdelningar: 68 häften 1840-49 innehållande männen och 12 häften 1841-49 innehållande kvinnorna.

Handmade paper. Almost entirely unopened. Just slightly rubbed spine and somewhat soiled boards, interior is clean. A very good copy. Chiswick press.

Owner's signature on paste-down endpaper. Spine ends slightly chipped, corners bumped, boards somewhat rubbed. First free end paper loosely attached, frontispiece slightly soiled and partly loose. Interior with a couple of discrete underlinings and some occasional foxing and dampstaining, a few pages with tiny creases.
