Various reports from Sjöstedt's expedition bound in publisher's red cloth with gilt lettering and gilt edges, original front wrapper (from report 15) preserved. Spine slightly rubbed and faded, corners slightly bumped. Verso of first free endpaper with neat inscription in ink: "Fick dessa 1 nov. 1907 färdiga ark och planscher." Page 15 of the last report almost completely detached, the upper edge with some tiny tears and creases. Apart from the 10 plates belonging to the articles included, there are an additional nine plates belonging to other articles in the series. The copy might possibly be some sort of early, partial proof copy, as implied in the handwritten note at the lower edge of the first free endpaper. Various scientific reports from Sjöstedt's East African expedition bound in one volume. This volume contains articles 15:1 (Corrodentia. Termitidae.), 4 (Reptilia and Batrachia), 5 (Fishes), 8:1 (Hymenoptera. Tenthredinae), 8:2 (Hymenoptera. Formicidae.), 10:1 (Diptera. Pupipara), 17:1 (Orthoptera. Dermatoptera), 17:2 (Orthoptera. Blattodea), 20 (Arachnoidea).

Torino 1890 XVI, 614 pp. Illustrations in the text. Publisher's printed boards, spine worn, joints damaged but sound, occasional slight foxing but internally overall very good.

À Lyon, chez Fr. Matheron, Libraire, 1821 Second edition. 12 x 6,5 cm. 191, (1) pp. Contemporary full-leather with sprinkled edges, sparsely gilt spine and spine label. Rear board, tail of spine and front joint with some wormholes. Title-leaf and a couple of pages with some faint soiling, interior else fine. The first edition of this religious work by an anonymous author was published in 1774; this is the second edition published in 1821. Scarce.

Owner's signature and book-plate on paste-down endpaper. Spine and boards somewhat rubbed, spine ends chipped, corners bumped, front joint with crack measuring ca 6 cm, interior with some faint, occasional foxing.

Bruxelles, Imprimerie de Demanet, 1854 (4), 260, VIII pp. 46 plates (several fold-outs) and 10 plates with musical prints. Publisher's printed green wrappers, pages partly uncut. Front cover with large, triangular chip (3,5 x 3 cm) at upper corner, covers else with a couple of tiny tears and creases. Half-title leaf with 2,5 cm tear at upper edge, a couple of the plates faintly foxed, two sheets partly loose.

Örebro, N. M. Lindh 1832-1836. Första upplagan. (12), 348; (4), 392; (4), 482, (2) s. Samtida röda halvfranska band med ryggförgyllning, vol 1 avviker lite i utseende men liknande. Vol. 1 lite fläckad, del 3 med genomgående svag fuktrand upptill. Två marginaler skadade, ett par blad med marginell reva. Främre fria försättsblad saknas i del 1, titelsidan med namnteckning. Huvudsakligen ändå en bra uppsättning. Allt som utkom av denna historia som sträcker sig fram till Drottning Kristina.

Lacks the dust-jacket, else a very well preserved copy. Wilson Hicks was the executive editor of LIFE during its most innovative period, and used it as the model in this study of photojournalism. A classic work on the subject, written at the time when the methods of the "photojournalist" were dominant in the approach to photography, the author perceptively defines the attitudes toward words and pictures which have differentiated the field of magazine journalism from that of newspapers.

First domestic, non-colonial UK edition with two pages of advertisements at the front and 32 pages at the back and Heinemanns logotype with the windmill on title leaf. Front board with gilt life buoy at upper left corner, rear board with Heinemann's embossed monogram.

Contemporary half calf with sprinkled boards, yellow tinted edges, spine (possibly rebacked at some point) with four raised bands and hand lettered title. Corners and boards slightly bumped and rubbed, free endpaper with owner's signature. Interior with some faint, occasional foxing, page 179 with horizontal tear across the page. One of the maps with ca 2 cm tear at margin, maps else fine. Pocket book containing informative chapters on a variety of topics, such as the geography of London, England and the rest of the world as well as chapters on arithmetics, geometry and numerous other diverse topics. Interior faultily paginated (there's a lacuna between pages 83 and 130) but the text is nonetheless complete.
