Spine slanted, boards rubbed, spine ends and corners heavily bumped. First free end paper with vertical crease and ca 3,5 cm tear at upper corner, endpapers slightly yellowed. Condition Good. First domestic, non-colonial UK edition with two pages of advertisements at the front and 32 pages at the back and Heinemanns logotype with the windmill on title leaf. Front board with gilt life buoy at upper left corner, rear board with Heinemann's embossed monogram.

Printed for J.J. Fox, R. Ware [et al], London, 1745 Fifth edition. IV, (4), 212, (168) pp. + 3 engraved fold-out plates. Contemporary half calf with sprinkled boards, yellow tinted edges, spine (possibly rebacked at some point) with four raised bands and hand lettered title. Corners and boards slightly bumped and rubbed, free endpaper with owner's signature. Interior with some faint, occasional foxing, page 179 with horizontal tear across the page. One of the maps with ca 2 cm tear at margin, maps else fine. Pocket book containing informative chapters on a variety of topics, such as the geography of London, England and the rest of the world as well as chapters on arithmetics, geometry and numerous other diverse topics. Interior faultily paginated (there's a lacuna between pages 83 and 130) but the text is nonetheless complete.

Contemporary calf, later spine, worn at extremeties, no end-papers, some soiling. A well read copy but still intact and good. A classic grammar used to teach grammar school pupils from 1515 to 1758 and printed in many editions.This edition with a English section followed by the Brevissima Institutio, which has its own title page (same publisher and date) and with Lily's Rules also with its own title-page and still same year and printer.

Parisiis, apud Jacobum Estienne, 1709 Quinta editio. (24), 137, (13) pp. Contemporary full-calf with sprinkled edges, marbled endpapers, inner and outer dentelles and five raised bands. Front joint with shallow, 5 cm crack at head of spine, rear joint with 2,5 cm crack at tail of spine. Head of spine and lower corner of rear board neatly and discretely restored at some point, probably around 1900. Pierre-Daniel Huet (1630-1721) was a French scholar, translator and clergyman. In 1652 Huet was invited to Stockholm by Queen Christina of Sweden, a journey which was documented in his Iter Suecicum. This is a collection of epistles, elegies, odes and epigrams. With Swedish music critic, editor and book-collector Fredrik Vult von Steijern's embossed and gilt book-plate on paste-down endpaper.

Dessutom medföljer en tryckt unik upplaga av samma arbete som skulle ha kommit ut på Cavefors förlag men uppenbarligen aldrig gavs ut. Inlagan med några korrigeringar, löst liggande i tryckt omslag. Ett måste för Cavefors-samlaren! Samtliga har tillhört översättaren Marin Tegen.
