Publisher's cloth, gillt lettering on spine, mostly unopened, hinges weak, front free end-apaper with stamp, two more leaves with marginal blind-stamp. Thomas Ellison (1833-1904), Liverpool cotton broker. The above work is his most important and scarce in its first edition.

Limited Edition of 350 copies of which this is no. 125, signed by the illustrator.

Francofurdi, Sumptibus Clementis Schleichy et Vidua Danielis Aubry 1629 624, (34) pp. With a decorative engraved title-page. Near contemporary vellum, end-paper loose from lower cover also small part of vellum a bit losse, a few leaves with small marginal stain, overall a very good copy.

Magdeburg, verlegts Michael Jacob Behle, 1753 (28), 680, (14), 26 pp. + 1 engraved frontispiece. Somewhat later (dated 1838) full calf with with gilt edges, gilt boards, outer dentelles and gilt spine with four raised bands. Spine and boards somewhat rubbed, interior occasionally somewhat narrowedly cut in the margins, one sheet loose. Beautifully bound hymnal with charming, engraved frontispiece with view over Magdeburg.

Paris, Arnauld de Vresse [c. 1850] 16 pp. + 16 colour lithographed plates. Publisher's decorated calf-backed boards. Spine slightly worn and damage at foot. One text-leaf and one plate with repaired tear, otherwise very good.

Paris, Trouvé et Co. 1829 14 pp. Contemporary full red morocco, gilt floral borders, title gilt on upper cover, gilt fleur-de-lis on lower. Some foxing but overall an attractive copy. Bound in the beginning is a 3 pp. Ms letter from the author to the French king Charles X, king between 1824 and 1830. With the book-plate of "Admiral Duff", probably Norwich Duff (1792-1862).
