Exlibris Den russisk-japanske krig var en konflikt mellem Rusland og Japan på baggrund af de to landes imperialistiske ambitioner i Asien. Krigen begyndte i februar 1904 og blev afsluttet i september året efter. Rusland blev påført en række nederlag i konflikten og måtte give Japan en serie indrømmelser ved fredsslutningen i Portsmouth, New Hampshire; blandt andet kontrollen over Korea.

Hans Josephsohn (May 1920 - 20 August 2012) was a Swiss sculptor who lived and worked in Zurich. Josephsohn was born in Königsberg (today's Kaliningrad), East Prussia. Here he attended elementary school and completed high school in 1937. That same year, he left his homeland and moved to Florence with a small scholarship, in order to study art. Permanent installations of Hans Josephsohn's works can be seen at the museum La Congiunta in Tessin, Switzerland, which was built by Peter Märkli and Stefan Bellwalder and opened in 1992. In 2003 the Kesselhaus Josephsohn in St. Gallen, Switzerland, opened, where a regularly alternating selection of works is presented.

Den nåværende hovedbygningen ble oppført 1802–07 for Niels Aall. Christian Collett tegnet et utkast, som ble endret av Jørgen Henrik Rawert. Anlegget er oppført i slaggstein fra Ulefos Jernværk, og består av hovedfløy med kuppeldekket midtparti og to énetasjes sidefløyer, dominerende plassert mot elven. Med det søylebårne midtparti og den stramme, velproporsjonerte arkitektur representerer Ulefos det fremste innen norsk klassisistisk bygningskunst. Rike samlinger. Illustreret sort/hvid.
