Printed in a limited edition of 250 numbered copies, this is no. 188, signed by Helen Levitt.

With 275 illustrations in the text. Publisher's pictorial cloth, top edge gilt. Boards just slightly soiled, spine ends and corners slightly bumped and frayed, paste-down endpaper partly cracked, binding still firm. The portrait of Emin Pascha with some slight foxing and dampstaining at the edges, plate XXVI with ca 2 cm tear at lower edge, a couple of pages with a couple of tiny tears at the fore-edge, interior else fine. Important work on the exploration of central and eastern Africa.

N.p. [1833?] 91 coulur plates + 1 black/white plate + descriptions of the plates (texts in Ebglish). Later cloth, some light foxing but overall very good inside. Plate 517 is missing from the above row.

Franco Maria Ricci 1992. 35x23,5 cm. 159 pp. Richly illustrated with tipped in plates in color. Publisher's richly decorated cloth with colored pastedown to front board. In a cloth solander case. A very good copy. Aloys Zötl (1803-1887), Austrian painter and master dyer, known for his paintings of fantastical animals and other natural history subjects. Rediscovered by the surrealists in the twentieth century. ("The Signs of Man" nr. 12). Printed in 5000 numbered copies, this is no. 200.

Text and atlas with printed wrappers, both loose in original cloth-backed printed boards, supplementary volume in original cloth-backed printed boards. A very good and attractive set.

Á Berne chez l'auteur/Kornfeld et Klipstein, 1955, 1968 30,5 x 21,5 cm. (14), (8); (10), (10) pp. + a total of 572 plates. Publisher's printed wrappers in glassinine jackets. Spines just slightly creased and slanted, front cover of colume one with small (ca 1 cm) tear at lower edge, glassinine jackets somewhat torn and creased. The first volume of this catalogue raisonné was first published in 1933, the first volume of this set is the second printing from 1955.

Hamburg und Leipzig, A.H. Holle 1759. (8), 430 pp. Title with engraved vignette. Contemporary half calf, rather worn, small damage to head and foot of spine and small part of upper joint. Book-plate and gilt initials on upper cover of Swedish book-collector Hjalmar Lundgren. Also with another, older book-plate inside upper cover. One leaf with torn corner, a few stains but overall very good inside.

Paris, Eugène Renduel 1831 First edition. (4), 352 pp. With title vignette. Contemporary half calf, occasional light foxing but overall a very good copy.

William Rider and Son 1914. XXXVI, 353, (1); IX, 352, VII, (1) pp. Publisher's blue cloth. Vol. 1 with small tear at head spine, and between two sections, between p. 112 and 113 slightly loose in the binding. (See image.) Vol. 2 with slightly bumped lower backside corner and 1 cm tear in cloth at upper frontside corner. Both volumes lightly bumped at head and foot spines. Fore edges untrimmed. Both volumes has previous owner's name and date in ink on first free endpapers (which are slightly discoloured in both cases), exlibris and small sticker from Foyles bookstore, London, at first paste-down endpapers.

Christer Strömholms first book, with pictures from his 1965 exhibition. The text is an excerpt from a conversation on Strömholm's pictures between Per Olof Sundman, Peter Weiss and Tor-Ivan Odulf.

Berlin, Ernst Siegfried Mittler und Sohn, 1908. 32,5 x 24,5 cm. X, 150 pp. + 63 plates with photographs and 1 folding map in colour. Contemporary, brown half leather binding with red spine labels, sparsely gilt spine and four raised bands, original front wrapper preserved. Corners just slightly bumped and rubbed, the original wrapper slightly soiled and with some pencil markings as well as small tear (ca 1 cm) and a couple of tiny holes at the upper edge. Interior slightly creased throughout at the upper corner, the folding map with a couple of tiny creases aat the corners, else fine.
