2 bind. Forlagt af C. A. Reitzel, Kjøbenhavn 1834 - 1836. Spalte 1-704 + 1-728. I beskedne kartonbind med lyseblåt papiromslag. Rygge og omslag med en del slitagespor, men blokkene intakte. * Fædrelandet udkom fra 1834 som ugeblad og fra december 1839 som dagblad. Bladet, der udkom indtil 1882, var i sine første år det førende organ for oppositionen mod enevælden. Det kan ikke være helt tilfældigt, at udgivelses-kadencen blev sat op samme måned, som Frederik VI døde. Redaktionen, som til dels var identisk med lederskabet af det senere Nationalliberale parti, brugte bl.a. spalterne til at formulere kravet om "Constitution", en fri forfatning, og bladet blev modpolen til den loyale presse med Berlingske Tidende i spidsen.**Med det beslaglagte nummer 20-21.

Slight offsetting from illustrations to opposite pages. * Bingleys intetion was to stimulate the study of nature, his readers are encouraged to make observations of their own - but he also strived to provide ways to impress "moral and religious feelings" in the students. **The female students are shielded from any "indelicate subject" by his "scrupulous exclusion" of such.

Illustrationerne er træsnit af tidens fermeste xylografer, og det ledsagende stålstik af en kendt dansk historisk personlighed hævder sig også ved grafisk kvalitet. ** Sættet indeholder i alt 29 førstetryk af H.C. Smårifter i øverste margen. * Mesterligt portræt af den danske søofficer, der på sin rejse ad Nilen i slutningen af 1730'rne nåede længere ind i Ægypten end nogen anden vesterlænding siden den antikke oldtid. Stikket er fremstillet som frontispice i Nordens posthumt udsendte storværk "Voyage d'Egypte et de Nubie" fra 1755.
