Rygge og omslag med en del slitagespor, men blokkene intakte. * Fædrelandet udkom fra 1834 som ugeblad og fra december 1839 som dagblad. Bladet, der udkom indtil 1882, var i sine første år det førende organ for oppositionen mod enevælden. Det kan ikke være helt tilfældigt, at udgivelses-kadencen blev sat op samme måned, som Frederik VI døde. Redaktionen, som til dels var identisk med lederskabet af det senere Nationalliberale parti, brugte bl.a. spalterne til at formulere kravet om "Constitution", en fri forfatning, og bladet blev modpolen til den loyale presse med Berlingske Tidende i spidsen.**Med det beslaglagte nummer 20-21.
