Framed in black passepartout [32 x 23.5 cm] with photo. * One of the finest melody makers of the 60's, The Kinks frontman and composer Ray Davies [b. 1944] has been dubbed the Godfather of Britpop. After the first aggresive hits 'You Really Got Me' and 'All Day and All of the Night', Davies focused on the melodies in his songs, making such masterpieces as 'Waterloo Sunset', 'Days', 'Sunny Afternoon', 'Village Green' and many, many more. In the 70's Davies evolved into writing conceptual 'Rock opera' records, turning the band into a US touring arena rock band.
