Efter en allmän inledning är rapporten uppdelad i tre avsnitt behandlande Träskärnings-arbetet, Halmflätning, respektive Pilodling och Korgflätning. En personligt hållen redogörelse med politisk-ekonomiska reflektioner, och anmärkningar som "Få äro väl ock de, som icke gjort bekantskap med en särskild klass af leksaker eller annat lappri, som bära spår af maskinmessig behandling, utmärkande sig för billigt pris, för prålande färger, der färg kunnat anbringas, och för i allmänhet oerhördt fula former".
