In 1935 Le Corbusier travelled to the USA where he embarked on a series of lectures, meetings and an exhibition. This book, first published in 1937, was a result of the trip and expresses his enthusiasm for the American way of embracing technology, as well as his disappointment in the guarded attitude of the Americans (les timides) who would not offer him any commissions.
