A substantial and extensively illustrated work on the planning, siting and design of working-class homes and housing estates, written by the prime instigator of the Deutsche Werkbund. Includes numerous examples from contemporary German garden suburbs and other Siedlungen as well as a discussion of future prospects. First published in 1918, this revised and extended edition includes a valuable bibliography of books and periodicals on the Siedlungswesen, listing ca 175 titles.
