Andra, reviderade upplagan av denna "översikt och granskning av idéer, strävanden och faktiska resultat i avseende på villabyggandet i Sverige", med illustrationer av villor ritade av Carl Westman, I.G. Clason, L.I. Wahlman, Ragnar Östberg, Ivar Tengbom, Carl Bergsten, Torben Grut, med flera. Första upplagan (1911) fick ett gynnsamt mottagande av svenska arkitekter, men även ett visst klander för att boken röjde inte blott engelska sympatier utan avoghet mot allt tyskt. Brunius replikerar i ett nytt förord att "Detta är sant, men afvogheten beror inte bara på personlig fördom utan är i detta fall verkligen resultat af studium och eftertanke".

(Svenska folkets öreskrifter, 5). Filantropen Jonas Stadling hade företagit resor i Nordamerika 1880-1883, och under hungersnöden i Ryssland 1892-1893 vistats där för att understödja Leo Tolstojs nödhjälpsverksamhet. I denna skrift redogör han för strävanden till lösning av egnahemsfrågan, med exempel från Storbritannien, Tyskland, Frankrike, och de egnahemsföreningar "som på sista tiden bildats i Östergötland och utbredt sig till närgränsande provinser".
