Arkitekt Ebbe Borgs namnteckning på första, blanka bladet. 1922-23 utgavs typritningar till egnahemshus i tre band, anpassade till olika delar av landet. Den föreliggande volymen är en ny version av projektet, där idén om regional anknytning har övergivits och arkitekturen anpassats till modernare formspråk och planeringsideal. Två av typhusen har rubriken "Det växande huset", som enligt inledningen utgör "den minimala småstugan som i mån av växande behov och resurser växer ut till en normal familjebostad". Ritningarna utfördes av Robert Berghagen i samråd med Eskil Sundahl, Sigurd Westholm, John Åkerlund, och Birger Borgström (som också bidragit med några egna ritningar). I den inledande texten ges en kortfattad redogörelse för husens konstruktion och instruktioner för golv, trappor, inredningar, beslag, järn- och plåtarbeten, och målning.

An apprentice of Deutsche Werkbund architects before he got his formal education, Schwagenscheidt had worked with Ernst May as a town planner in Russia.
