In this discourse held and published in 1919, the former Rector of the University of Copenhagen makes a fierce attack at the modern art movements, which he describes as the outcome of "contagious insanity". The attack is aimed especially at the tendencies to "deform the human body" for which he coins the term Dysmorphism. In the 1920 sequel, Salomonsen resumes his condemnation of modern art and extends it to smite Dada poetry.
