Vols 1, lower margin with light dampstaining/The Maud Expedition (1918-1925), under Roald Amundsen 1918-22 and then under H. U. Sverdrup and O. Wisting 1922-25. The plan was to enter the pack ice north of the Bering Strait and drift with the ice as near to the North Pole as possible. Despite many years of effort, neither the passage nor the attempt on the pole were completed, but valuable scientific and meteorological data were collected, which are described in this important publication. Arctic bibliography 11125.. .

Kanskje den mest skjellsettende norske barnebok. . . Dedikasjon fra Thorbjørn Egner på forsatsbl. “Ingeborg Lise og Helen med hilsen fra Thorbjørn”. Kanskje den mest skjellsettende norske barnebok. Karius og Baktus er to små tanntroll som bor i et hull i en av tennene til gutten Jens. De lever glade dager med loff og sirup i munnen til Jens, som ikke pusser tennene sine. Karisus og Baktus får etterhvert et ubehagelig møte med tannbøsten og tannlegeboret. I førsteutgaven ender historien med at tanntrollene skylles ned i sluket, men på grunn av klager på brutaliteten i avslutningen, endrer Egner avslutningen til at Karius og Baktus seiler avsted på en flåte ute på det åpne hav.
