One appendix is missing (with reference to Krok) about four pages in volume 1846 and one unpaginated leaf in 1851. Loss of text pp. 129-36 in volume 1865 and pp. 93-94 in volume 1866. Page 103-06, loosely attached in volume 1883. Complete run from 1839-1949 (year 1847-48, 1859-62, 1864 and 1869-70 were not published (Krok pp. 556-558). Lindblom was the editor from 1839-1846, N. J. Regeringskommisjonen var den midlertidige regjeringen i Norge 1807-10 som ble opprettet da forbindelsen mellom Danmark-Norge ble brutt pga Napoleonskrigene. Budstikken var i utgangspunktet deres offisielle meddelelsesblad og skulle motvirke rykter og opposisjonelle meninger. De første 55 nummer ble redigert av justitiarius i Akershus stiftoverett Enevold de Falsen. Etter hans død i 1808 ble Budstikken redigert av Ludvig Stoud Platou, overlærer ved Christiania Katedralskole. Stoud Platou var med på å stifte Selskabet for Norges Vel i 1809 og Budstikken kom til å fungere som selskapets offisielle organ da regjeringskommisjonen ble nedlagt i 1810. B.N, s. 57. This rare and beautiful Swedish work on flowers and fruit was published by August Pfeiffer who draw 27 of the 36 plates. Other artists that contributed was J. W. Palmstruck and J. G. Ruckman.

The writing of this official history of the Swedish wars with Poland and Denmark from 1655 to 1660 was entrusted by king Charles XI to Samuel Pufendorf, a German historian and expert on international law, who held the first chair of history at the new university of Lund (1668-1676) and was the official Historiographer of the Realm from 1676 until 1689. The leading authors besides Thomas Bartholin and Niels Steensen (Steno) were Holger Jacobsen (Jacobaeus), Caspar Bartholin, Ole Borch (Borrichius), Ole Worm, Simon Paulli, Johan Rodhe, Caspar Kölichen and others.
