The maps were drawn by Johannes Mejer and engraved by Matthias and Nicolaus Petersen. Text by Caspar Danckwerth. Original decorated vellum. One corner skilfully restored. Three maps with marginal repairs. Some foxing as usual, but overall a clean and well preserved copy of the earliest printed Danish atlas. Provenence: Bertel Bartholin (1614-1690). Danish professor and son of Caspar Bartholin, inscription dated Haffniæ 1666, and later Traugott Møller’s collection. . .

Covers gilt. Rebacked, preserving the original spine. All edges gilt. A little rubbed. Title-page with some foxing, and text with minor occasional foxing and some offsetting. Clean plates. Svært sjeldent at de første fem nummerene foreligger i 1. opplag.. . 1784 bestemte Wessel seg for å utgi sitt eget ukeblad, Votre Serviteur Otiosis (Eders tjener, I som har tid til overs), med bare versfortellinger. Takket være dette ukebladet kom en rekke av Wessels fortellinger på trykk som f.eks Smeden og Bageren.

Lettering-pieces. 3 engraved title-pages, 351 engraved plates (117 + 108 + 126), some folding. A very fine copy. Dahlberg (1625-1703) enjoyed a distinguished military career and oversaw Charles X `s extensive fortification programme. Suecia antiqua et hodierna is in the same vein as Merian`s Topographia Gallia, and Dahlberg travelled throughout Sweden to capture the principal towns, buildings, and monuments.

Index 6 leaves. Finely bound in modern half calf with six raised bands. Red morocco label. Gilt spine. (by Håkan Wahlström, Stockholm 1952). Index bound separately in uniform binding. Preserved in a carton box with morocco label. Title, dedication leaf and plate No 1, with minor marginal tears, otherwise in fine condition. Fredrik Henrik af Chapman (9 September 1721 in Gothenburg – 19 August 1808) was a Swedish shipbuilder, scientist and officer in the Swedish navy. He was also manager of the Karlskrona shipyard 1782–1793. In 1765 Chapman applied for permission from his work as a chief naval builder for the Archipelago Fleet at the naval base at Sveaborg to work on Architectura Navalis Mercatoria, a collection of contemporary ship types that he considered to be the best and most interesting. The work had been commissioned by Duke Charles, the brother of king Gustav and was published in 1768. The book contained 62 illustrations of ships and smaller vessels, both Swedish and foreign designs. Some of these were Chapman's own designs, but many were also types that he had seen during visits to foreign countries. Everything from large warships to small fishing vessels were represented.. . .
