Woodbridge, Antique Collectors' Club, 2005. 31x24. 192 pp. Ca 215 photos, 180 in colour including 110 full-page. Publisher's printed boards, dust jacket, very fine. Ferdinand Preiss (1882-1943) designed most of the ivory and bronze Art Deco cabinet sculptures produced by the Preiss & Kassler company - notably women figures, often from the sports, ballet, and theatrical world. Oddly fascinating for whatever reason, his works are regarded by many as the very quintessence and summit of Art Deco sculpture.
