More than 350 black and white photographs and drawings (several full-page). Publisher's gilt-decorated black linen cloth, printed transparent plastic jacket, an excellent copy. First published in 1964 in an edition limited to four copies only, produced by the "Püterschein-Hingham" Press (i.e. the private press of Dwiggins and Dorothy Abbe). The type designer and illustrator William Addison Dwiggins created his own marionette theatre, with a puppet group named the Püterschein Authority, in a garage behind his home in Hingham, Massachusetts, and built his second marionette theatre under his studio at 45 Irving Street. In 1967 the marionettes were donated to the three-room Dwiggins Collection at the Boston Public Library.
