Le Preux (1840-1885) was 'Inspecteur du gouvernement' and founding editor of the architectural review 'Paris-Architecte'.

A good copy of a rare publication, wrappers very lightly worn with a few faint crease marks. Extensively documented schemes for low-cost housing, prepared by Sven Wallander with collaborators, and presented by the HSB tenants' cooperative association. The schemes were ubmitted to a contest announced by the Stockholm City Real Estate Board - hors concours, as the scheme goes beyond the stipulated framework for entries. The head of the HSB architects' office, Wallander was a protagonist of modern Swedish socially directed housing architecture.

More than 350 black and white photographs and drawings (several full-page). Publisher's gilt-decorated black linen cloth, printed transparent plastic jacket, an excellent copy. First published in 1964 in an edition limited to four copies only, produced by the "Püterschein-Hingham" Press (i.e. the private press of Dwiggins and Dorothy Abbe). The type designer and illustrator William Addison Dwiggins created his own marionette theatre, with a puppet group named the Püterschein Authority, in a garage behind his home in Hingham, Massachusetts, and built his second marionette theatre under his studio at 45 Irving Street. In 1967 the marionettes were donated to the three-room Dwiggins Collection at the Boston Public Library.
