Printed blue wrappers, uncut and unopened, an extraordinarily fine copy despite minor foxing of top edge. Scarce first edition of this early work by Behrendt, his inaugural dissertation devoted to "The uniform block front as a spatial element in town building". Behrendt joined the Deutsche Werkbund in 1919 and was a prolific spokesman for modernism in architecture; from 1927 to 1933 he was responsible for the supervision of all public construction projects in Prussia. In 1934 he was helped by Lewis Mumford to emigrate to the USA, where he served as Professor of Townbuilding and Housing at the University of Buffalo from 1937 to 1941.

Bidlake whose name was adopted by Dietmann as a pseudonym, etc. Kept in a cardboard box covered with a printed label, sealed with a brass clip; stamped and mailed to another Swedish artist. The box with some traces of handling, contents very fine. Fluxus-type box dispatched as invitation to an exhibition held by Erik Dietmann in Stockholm in May, 1967.
