First edition of this important dissertation on the history and development of residential architecture in Berlin in the 17th and 18th centuries (with an introduction on the mediaeval background). Includes indices of persons and buildings. A new edition was published in 1984 with additional text by Waltraud Volk and new illustrations.

The Tectus Collection was acquired in 1995 by the Ulricehemn East Asian Museum which was closed in 2008.

Berlin, Cassirer, 1912. 21x15. 110 pp. + 12 plates with four elevations and plans and 14 photos of buildings and models. Two plans in the text. Printed blue wrappers, uncut and unopened, an extraordinarily fine copy despite minor foxing of top edge. Scarce first edition of this early work by Behrendt, his inaugural dissertation devoted to "The uniform block front as a spatial element in town building". Behrendt joined the Deutsche Werkbund in 1919 and was a prolific spokesman for modernism in architecture; from 1927 to 1933 he was responsible for the supervision of all public construction projects in Prussia. In 1934 he was helped by Lewis Mumford to emigrate to the USA, where he served as Professor of Townbuilding and Housing at the University of Buffalo from 1937 to 1941.

Text and loose plates as issued in a printed cardboard porfolio with title "ARCHITEKTOR V.I. BAZHENOV. STAROE ZDANIE ... ". (Pamyatniki Russkoi arkhitektury. Obmery i issledovaniya). Monograph on the Pashkov Palace built just outside Moscow in the 1780s, the only major residence for a non-Royal patron attributed to Vasilii Ivanovich Bazhenov.

Included in pagination is a facsimile reproduction of the publication 'Suprematism' (Vitebsk 1920) with its 34 full-page prints by Malevich. Printed wrappers, backstrip sunned. Wrappers printed in black and red, with subtitle: "La Section Française: Les Groupes et le Classes, Groupes I a V". Unopened copy, with loosely inserted visiting card and stencilled letter from Edmond Labbé, who was Commissionaire Génerale as well as Rapporteur Générale of the exhibition. Volume five of the general report on the Paris 1937 international exhibition, covering: I. Expression de la pensée; II. Questions sociales; III. Formation artistique et technique; IV. Diffusion artistique et technique; V. Urbanisme - Architecture.

Stockholm 1967. 15x10. 30 varicoloured slips, seven with photos of objects created by Dietmann, and twenty-three printed in various typefaces including texts by Dietmann as well as quotes ascribed to Robert Filliou, Emmet Williams, Thomas Tidholm, the British racing bicyclist F.T. Bidlake whose name was adopted by Dietmann as a pseudonym, etc. Kept in a cardboard box covered with a printed label, sealed with a brass clip; stamped and mailed to another Swedish artist. The box with some traces of handling, contents very fine. Fluxus-type box dispatched as invitation to an exhibition held by Erik Dietmann in Stockholm in May, 1967.

The editor was Manager of the German Society for Housing Reform. All text trilingual in German, English and French.

No. 499 of an edition limited to 500 copies. Colour facsimiles of the sketchbooks made by Jeanneret (later known as Le Corbusier) during his voyages through Germany, Italy, East Europe and the Orient in 1911. The last volume contains transcriptions of his texts, with notes and introduction in English.
