In the 1960s the association radicalized more and more art forms took place at Fylkingen; performance art, dance, choreography, happenings and text-sound compositions. Sjælden dansk udgave / Rare Danish edition: "The City and the Pillar is the third published novel by American writer and essayist Gore Vidal, written in 1946 and published on January 10, 1948. The story is about a young man who is coming of age and discovers his own homosexuality. The City and the Pillar is significant because it is recognized as the first post-World War II novel whose openly gay and well-adjusted protagonist is not killed off at the end of the story for defying social norms. It is also recognized as one of the "definitive war-influenced gay novels", being one of the few books of its period dealing directly with male homosexuality." (wiki).

MacGibbon and Kee, London, 1965 (1937). Publishers hardcover with very good dustwrapper, not price-clipped and protected. 266 pages. Name in ink to front inner cover else clean and overall a very well preserved copy. First UK edition. "White Mule is the first of a trilogy of novels by William Carlos Williams about the immigrant Stecher family in New York at the turn of the 20th century. The "White Mule" of the title refers to Flossie, the angry, assertive, uncompromising baby, who can kick like White Mule whiskey. White Mule is the story of Joe’s inner struggle between love of fine craftsmanship (he is a printer by trade) and Gurlie’s ambition to get ahead, to have him get “in the money.” But it also the story of the awakening consciousness of their children; the real heroine is the baby Flossie––she had a kick like “White Mule” whiskey––whose birth begins the book. Everything revolves around the baby and she is surely unique in literature. Dr. Williams was a pediatrician, and without sentimentality he makes of this little being, who cannot even talk, a full-scale, three-dimensional personality."
