The image/colour collage is a graphic reflection of the image-sound-light performance created by the architects, Jean Petit and Edgar Varese. Full brown calf, gilt monogram and dentelles, all edges gilt; a fine copy with some very light rubbing at extremities. No.146 of an edition limited to 550 copies, signed by the author. Grand monograph on the Royal Court Theatres at the Drottningholm and Gripsholm Palaces (built to the designs of Carl Fredrik Adelcrantz and Erik Palmstedt respectively) and their historical background. The volume comprises 145 pages text with ca 180 illustrations, mainly 18th-century renderings, and 134 pages with ca 120 photos and 70 architectural drawings - by the original architects as well as plans, elevations and sections based upon new measurings. Although designated "Förra delen" (First part) on the title leaf, this is the complete published work.

Minor rumpling and damp stain in lower corner of text leaves and some plates. A comprehensive collection of designs for wooden doors, windows, stairs, framework façades, balconies, canopies, oriels, turrets and wooden ornamentation. One of the last publications prepared by this German Gothic Revival architect and teacher. The publications and teachings of Georg Ungewitter (1820-1864) aimed to maintain high standards of craftsmanship and precision, and his finely detailed Gothic columns, windows and canopies would become mainstream only a generation later.

Substantial and attractive large-format catalogue of coloured wall frieze and ceiling decorations provided by the Dresden firm Krey und Sommerlad.

Printed wrappers; front wrapper and pagination in Bauhaus style typography. A fine copy with minor traces of handling. On inside of front wrapper neatly inscribed in ink "Gunnar Jungmarker 1932" (Swedish art scholar and art critic). At top of the inside of rear wrapper there is a pencil inscription "Gummeson 1.50" in Jungmarker's handwriting. Kandinsky had been exhibiting at the Gummeson art gallery in Stockholm in 1916 and 1922, and this 1930 publication may well have been for sale there.
