An excellent set with minor, expected wear to top and bottom of the covers, otherwise in pristine condition. Complete ninth volume of this documentation of modern buildings, mainly in German cities and suburbs but including examples from Basel, Budapest, Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Chicago. The majority are dwelling houses, including stately villas, among the others are commercial and office buildings, schools, churches, etc.

A fine copy in blue cloth binding with Chinese characters on cover and spine; pictorial dust jacket bound in; former owner's bookplate on inside of cover. Handsomely produced catalogue of the 90th anniversary exhibition of paintings and calligraphy by one of the best-known Chinese artists of the twentieth century. Originally known as a guohua (traditionalist) painter, by the 1960s he was also renowned as a Chinese exponent of Impressionist and Expressionist painting. Although the catalogue entries are in Chinese, the works' titles are provided in English with dating, and a Chronological Biography of the artist is bilingual in Chinese and English (as is the title of the catalague).

A sumptuously produced documentation of the gifts of silverwork presented by Swedish monarchs to Russian tsars between 1647 and 1699, which can still be seen in the Kremlin Armoury in Moscow. Includes descriptive catalogue of the illustrated objects, as well as transcriptions of the original 17th-century inventories.

An important manifesto of the prominent Hungarian exponent and practictioner of Modernist architecture, and a fine documentation of his work in the 1930s. At the end of that decade, Kozma's career was cut short due to the goverment's antisemitic actions. Stripped of professional accreditation and unable to work, he turned to writing the book 'Das neue Haus' (The New House) which could only find a publisher outside Hungary.

Fully illustrated catalogue of sixty-two paintings in Petr Semenov-Tian-Shanski's remarkable collection of Dutch and Flemish art which was acquired by the Hermitage in 1910 for 250 thousand rubles. Published in conjunction with an exhibition arranged by the Society for the Protection and Preservation of Monuments of Art and Antiquities in Russia, with introductory texts by Wrangel and V. Shchavinsky on the collection and on Petr Semenov (Semonyov), a geographer and art collector who was authorised by Tzar Nikolaus II to add the epithet "Tian-Shanski" to his name in honour of his exploration of the Tian Shan mountains.

On title leaf the signature of presumably first owner Christina Werander; inside front cover the signature of J(ohan) G(ottlob Brusell) and a gift inscription dated 1818 by Brusell, Garde des Tableaux at the Royal Museum, to Johan Söderlund (and Söderlunds bookplate dated 1829); finally a presentation inscription by the drawingmaster John Ekström to P(ontus) Henriques who taught perspective drawing at the Royal Academy of Art from 1888. Den tidigaste tryckta svenska perspektivläran och författarens första arbete, utfört medan han ännu var volontär vid fortifikationen; han blev med tiden informator för de kungliga pagerna och kronprins Gustaf, och sedermera Gustaf III:s bibliotekarie.
