Roemers astronomical instruments were the best of his time. In the work by Peder Horrebow, Roemer's pupil and successor as professor in astronomy in Copenhagen, here reviewed, describes the instruments in detail as well as Roemer's observational methods.

Pp.117-128 First edition of Bergius’ early investigation into the chemical and medicinal properties of the iron-rich waters from Rio Tinto in Spain, with case observations on their therapeutic effects. An early scientific contribution to the study of mineral waters by the noted Swedish botanist and physician.Peter Jonas Bergius (1730 – 1790) was a Swedish medical doctor and botanist. In 1758 Bergius was elected a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. In 1768 he was elected to membership of the American Philosophical Society. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1770 and a Foreign Honorary Member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1785.
