The rare first edition of this influential publication on Japanese domestic architecture produced with the encouragement of Ludwig Hilberseimer and Hugo Häring, who met Yoshida during his stay in Europe 1931-32. As an example of the adaption of Japanese tradition to modern architecture, Yoshida has included his own Baba House built in Tokyo in 1928.

Twenty-two projects in The Modern Style - the Russian equivalent of Art Nouveau - ten country houses and villas, one town house, and eleven entrance halls, garden pavilions and gates. The designs were prepared by Russian architects with the exception of six houses drawn from Völkel's 'Moderne Villen in Meisteraquarellen'.

Jakovski had written the texts to a catalogue of a group exhibition of these six artists held at Galerie Pierre in Paris in 1933; most likely the present publication is based on those texts. Jakovski was born in Romania, and moved to Paris in 1932, where he developed close relationships to Jean Hélion, Jean Arp, Alexander Calder and other artists, and established himself as an art critic focusing particularly on abstract painting.

Printed wrappers, an excellent copy. Rare publication presenting Eliel Saarinen's utopian Kalavala House project. This imposing edifice, designed by Saarinen between 1919 and 1921 but never realised, was meant to be a monument to Finnish culture, containing a Finnish Pantheon crowned by a tower eighty metres tall, artists' studios, a concert hall, a research institute, and even a mausoleum.

Sällsynt. En förteckning med historiska upplysningar om ca 150 svenska glasbruk, med källangivelser. Edvard Strömberg var disponent vid Eda glasbruk, där hans hustru Gerda hade börjat sin bana som formgivare. När driften vid Eda lades ned 1933 övertog och återstartade han det nedlagda Lindesfors glasbruk vars namn ändrades till Strömbergshyttan.

A history and Catalogue of the Swedish Queen Regnant Christina's remarkable collection of (mostly Italian) paintings which came into Swedish possession during the Battle of Prague and the Peace of Westphalia negotiations. The volume includes Granberg's history of the collection through the centuries and his heavily annotated Catalogue Raisonné of the paintings, as well as early inventories of the paintings in German, French and Italian: the Prague inventory at Skokloster Palace ('Wass sich in denen Pildergangen, Sählen und Gallarien von Gemehlen sind befundten und bestandten, 1648); Marquis de Fresnes 'Inventaire des Raritéz qui sont dans le Cabinet des Antiquitez de la Sérénissime Reine de Suède' (1652): the inventory in the Archivio Palatini in Rome: 'Catalogo dei quadri della Regina di Svezia' (probably 1689); and the 'Inventario de' quadri dell Galleria Memorabile della Regina di Suecia' made 1721 in connection with the sale to the Duke of Orléans.
