Loose as issued in a two gilt-lettered half cloth portfolios, slightly externally worn and text leaves lightly thumbed. A documentation of Louis Seize-style architecture in Frankfurt, the first volume showing exterior views and drawings of buildings, the second covering interiors.

Ryggen och pärmarnas ytterkanter något nötta, i övrigt ett välbevarat exemplar där de flesta arken fram till sidan 500 är ouppskurna. Tidens mest omfattande svenska byggnadslära, en värdefull källa till husbyggnadspraktik och -teknik i Sverige under andra hälften av 1800-talet. Andra öfversedda, tillökta och delvis omarbetade upplagan, den sista med de gamla svenska måttangivelserna. En tredje upplaga utgavs 1890 med måtten omräknade till metersystemet.

Nice contemporary red calf backed cloth boards with vellum corners, pictorial front wrapper bound in. 14e édition on the base of front wrapper may be regarded as a continuation of the fictive designation of the 1923 first edition printings, most extant copies of which are marked 5e édition. (Collection de L'Esprit Nouveau). 'Vers une Architecture' originally appeared in 1923 under the name Le Corbusier-Saugnier which was the joint pseudonym under which Charles-Edouard Jeanneret and Amedée Ozenfant first published the texts in their magazine L'Esprit Nouveau. This new edition was revised and extended by Jeanneret who dropped the Saugnier, thus taking the whole credit for the texts.

An influential work on modern architecture, with an introduction that put the new style firmly in a line of descent from selected aspects of 19th-century designs and gave importance to he Expressionists and the Amsterdam school at a time when their reputations were declining. The introduction is followed by an 158-page survey of buildings designed by Bruno Taut, his brother Max, Mendelsohn, Döcker, Gropius, Mies, Scharoun, Häring, Ernst May, Josef Frank, Josef Hoffmann, van der Vlugt, Oud, Rietveld, Bohuslav Fuchs, Le Corbusier, Lurçat, Mallet-Stevens, and others. A truncated version in English, without the plans and sections, was published in the same year.

When Gustaf Adolf ascended the throne shortly before his 68th birthday in 1950, much of his life as Crown Prince had been devoted to the assembling of an important collection of ancient Chinese pottery and other art objects.

First edition of the Crusade, or the Twilight of the Academies. Le Corbusier was constantly on guard against the academic establishment, and this crusade against academism and traditionalism may be regarded as a response to the prolonged campaign against Le Corbusier mounted by the 'Art National' journal published by the Association des Architectes Anciens Combattants.
