Her og der brunplettet og et hak i højre margin på de sidste cca. 20 blade med tab af kun enkelte bogstaver. Hjørrings bog, som nærmest er i dagbogsform, er en af de vigtigste kilder til kendskabet til forholdene i København under svenskernes belejring 1658-60, idet han, efter at have været fange hos Karl Gustav, måtte begive sig ind i den belejrede by. Her var han øjenvidne til mangfoldige af de episoder som her skildres. Bogen udkom allerede 1660, men denne udgave har ikke overlevet i et komplet eksemplar. Den blev siden trykt mange gange, helt op i 1800-tallet og var yndet folkelæsning. - Bibl. Danica III:158.
