Titelbladet med tab af noget af yderste margin, dog ikke teksttab, smudsigt. Enkelte gl. reparationer af marginer, nogle med tab af tekst. Gennemgående brugsspor, særligt i første del af værket. Originaludgaven af Lyschanders Danmarkshistorie i det pragtfulde Waldkirch-tryk. Lyschander, Christian IV's historiograf fik til opgave at skrive Danernes historie som et modstykke til den svenske Johannes Magnus' historieværk. Han udfylder lakunen mellem Bibelen og Saxo ved hjælp af Niels Pedersens "Gullandske Dokument", som Lyschander indfører i sin bog efter først at have omskrevet det med runer for at give det endnu større ærværdighed og beviskraft (side 24), og han fører med store krumspring og fantasifuldhed det danske kongehus' anerække tilbage til Adam !, og således stammer Christian IV ned fra Noah i opadstigende linie med 135 aner. Alligevel var dette ikke nok til at distancere svenskerne. da Johannes Magnus kunne bryste sig af, på det svenske folks vegne, at Gustav Adolf havde 148 forfædre. - Lyschander startede med at identificere de folkenavne, som forefandtes på Ptolemæus' kort over Jylland og de Scandiske Øer. Holberg udstillede i parodisk form i sin Epistel 193 denne form for historieskrivning. - Bibl. Danica III:13 - Birkelund nr. 38 - Thesaurus 544.

First printing of an importent work in the taxonomy of dinosaurs and extinct reptilia. Harry Govier Seeley was a British paleontologist who determined that dinosaurs fell into two great groups, the Saurischians and the Ornithischians, based on the nature of their pelvic bones and joints. He published his results in 1888, from a lecture he had delivered the previous year. (the paper offered).

Light wear to extremities, boards slightly soilied and miscoloured. Leather on spine cracked. First few leaves with dampstains, otherwise internally generally nice and clean. (40), 582 pp. + 26 (out of 38) plates. Eighth edition of Spark’s most popular and influtial work being a series of disquisitions or meditations on the principal feasts, together with original religious poetry in each section and extensive prayers for each feast. The engraved illustrations derived from engravings by Collaert after Marten de Vos. Despite its popularity and numerous edition and reprints, all editions are scarce and are rarely found in the trade.

Library label pasted on to pasted down front free end-paper. As usual with various browning to leaves and plates. The entire volume of "Actorum Eruditorum Anno MDCCVI" offered. [Leibniz's paper:] Pp. 10-15 + 1 engraved plate; 446-51 pp. [Entire volume: (2), 590 pp.]. First publication of two Leibniz papers. In the first paper, Leibniz's calculates the curve for a rolling without sliding body (Pura provolutio). The second paper is a correction to Leibniz's 1689-paper.Many other papers by influential contemporary mathematicians, philosophers and historians are to be found in the present volume.

I fire tilfælde afviger manuskriptet fra den trykte tekst: 2.7: 'Englebørn' for 'Englene' 3.3: 'Englens arme Hjerte' for 'Kummerfuldt den Hjerte' 3.4: 'Den har Mennesket saa kjær' for 'Har os Mennesker saa kjær' 4.7: 'Tit er Engles Øine' for 'Tit er Engleøine' Udover at være en af romantikkens store digtere, var Wilster en formidabel oversætter af græsk poesi, og han huskes i dag primært for sine fremragende oversættelser af Iliaden og Odysseen.
