Wear to extremitie, boards with scratches and parts of gilting worn off. Ex-libris (Carl Juel, Valdemar's Castle) to pasted down front end-papers. Internally very nice and clean. Later edition of this chronological history of France, first published in 1667/1668. The history begins with the reign of Faramond and ends with that of Henry IV.

Pasteur's paper: pp. 1033-1044. Very small tears to the first few leaves, not affecting Pasteur's paper. First apperance of an importent paper in microbiology in which Pasteur attributes Puerpal Fever to the development of micro-organisms infecting the pus of the inflammatory condition. He claims that the childhood fever was caused by the bacterium later named Streptococus pyogenes.
