Han anses vara en av världens mest inflytelserika regissörer och många av hans filmer har blivit milstolpar i filmhistorien. Det här är den stora fotobiografin, sammanställd av Bengt Wanselius, som i 20 år arbetade som en av Bergmans egna stillbildsfotografer. Denna kolossala bok innehåller över ett tusen bilder som skildrar Bergmans liv och verk. Här finns inte enbart bilder från alla hans filmer utan också en lång rad unika fotografier från filminspelningar, teaterscener och privatliv. I boken finns också en specialproducerad dvd med bland annat Bergmans egna smalfilmer. Texterna i boken bygger huvudsakligen på Ingmar Bergmans egna ord, med citat från dagböcker, brev, skrifter och böcker. Text in Swedish.”Nitsche helped pioneer the concept of design authorship – and not just the navel-gazing books about and for designers (he never published a monograph) – but books that had broad audiences. Of course design was endemic to every subject he covered and his books were designed in an elegant contemporary manner. Design was but a frame with which he presented unique themes. Nitsche’s goal with, for example, The New Illustrated Library of Science and Invention, was to avail the reader of fascinating, subjects, like “A History of Ships and Seafaring” and “A History of Archaelogical Discoveries.” Through accessible formats these books were (and still are) “reader friendly” because the typographic and graphic entry-points were conceived to provide unique sensory experiences. This may sound a bit pretentious, but Nitsche’s books were anything but. Instead their elegance was a point of pride and a selling point for the reader. Another way to describe them is “generous:” Nitsche was indeed generous with white space and pictures alike. Whether addressing physics, occult sciences, fashion, or social progress, each 112-page volume generously presented a wealth of material in a sophisticated but not haughty manner.He was passionate for images, which he personally selected for every book to heighten understanding and provide rational narrative flow. The type - he was compulsive about finding the perfect cuts of the quintessential faces - was classic, always justified, but routinely with a modern tweak in the column width and leading. Every book also contained a handsome timeline (he was truly the master of timelines) as a contextual signpost. /.../ After moving to Geneva in the early 1960s Nitsche Founded ENI, S.A. (Erik Nitsche International) to produce some of the finest illustrated history books ever designed. The first series, a twelve volume The New Illustrated Library of Science and Invention, with a multilingual print run of over two million copies, covered the histories of communication, transport, photography, architecture, astronomy, and the machine, and flight. Like Dynamic America, the pictures drove the text (although the text was written by esteemed authors). Nitsche dove headlong into the research himself and unearthed thousands of rare and never-before-seen archival images. Troligen inköpte Magnus Gabriel de la Gardie samlingen och via Antikvitetskollegiet har den kommit i bibliotekets ägo.Ornamentsticken tjänade ursprungligen huvudsakligen som förebilder för guld- och silversmidet samt för dekorering av vapen. Så småningom vidgades verksamhetskretsen till arkitektur, möbler etc.Det De la Gardieska samlingsbandet innehåller många unika blad och flera serier ornamentstick föreligger här i fullständigare skick än i andra större samlingar.

Bakre omslag på samma nummer delvis loss i falsen. Samtliga omslag medbundna. Första årgången där ”månadshäftet” blivit en kvartalsskrift. Artiklarna rikt illustrerade men också med mängder av tryckprover som exponent för tryckeriets kunnande och kapacitet som vid den här tiden inte hade någon motsvarighet i Skandinavien. Tryckt med olika typsnitt på olika papperskvaliteter. 4 månadshäften i en volym.”Wezätas Månadshäfte” utkom 1902-12 med sammanlagt 49 nummer och utkom månadsvis 1902-04 därefter kvartalsvis. Såvitt man vet var detta första representanten i Sverige för de numera vanliga företagstidningarna. Hela årgånger, ja även lösa häften är ovanliga. (Se Bondeson s. 146-155).

Motiv: “The Sucker” av Ingrid Orfali.Semiotikern och språkforskaren Ingrid Orfali, som mot slutet av decenniet ställde ut en rad symbolladdade cibachrome-fotografier med fyndiga och rebusliknande titlar. Bland de mest uppmärksammade verken finns The Sucker från 1989, som föreställer ett rött läppstift på väg ut ur munnen på ett hajkranium. Vad som i denna bild är objekt och subjekt, mannen och kvinnan, språket och naturen, sugaren och förloraren, har länge varit föremål för tolkning. Bilden går att se på minst två olika sätt.

Edition: 30 / Signed and numbered (15 for sale).KAMI is an artists' book based on photographs taken by Markus Sjöborg in Otaki, Japan 2015 in which he's been investigating if "a book could be a temple?" or "what's the sound of a one-hand clap?". In Otaki they have been making paper for more than 1500 years yet what fascinated Markus was their spiritual relationship to their craftsmanship. Their paper goddess, Kawakami-gozen, the shrines and the annual rituals and traditions every year. Markus spend time in Otaki in 2013 and 2015 and have been working on the book since then. All the paper in the book has been handmade by Japanese artisans among them Ichibei Iwano which is famous for making some of the highest quality washi in the world. KAMI consists of 20 mounted photographs that have been chosen and laid out to match the spiritual virtues Markus found in the artisans of Otaki. The format is inspired by Shirokuban and measures 257 mm × 380 mm.KAMI was presented at the Landskrona Photo Festival 2018 and is being exhibited at Ystad Art Museum in their artists’ books collection.

(See Lutz Jahre 26 - 1972)Pontus Hulten took a sabbatical in 1971 to be relieved of the daily business of the museum and to find time for special projects. In the Torpedo Institute, a former naval building near the Moderna Museet, he worked for a year on his Tinguely biography, which was then published in book trade in Germany and Sweden in 1972. A Tinguely exhibition was organized jointly with the Danish Louisiana Museum (Humlebæk, 1973) and the Moderna Museet (Stockholm, October 7th - December 3rd, 1972). Instead of a catalogue, only a leaflet was published in Stockholm, since the extensive biography was already available on the book market. The book went far beyond the possibilities of an exhibition publication, and Hultén, as a friend of the artist and an expert on the work, was ideally placed to realize such a project. The chronologically structured book is characterized by its great information value and its remarkable design. Not least because of the wealth of illustrations, carefully researched data and the numerous facsimiles of source documents, the monograph was considered for a long time to be the best standard work on Jean Tinguely.Although over 30,000 visitors saw the exhibition in Stockholm and Tinguely was a widely respected artist, the book was not a commercial success. In his introduction, Hultén wrote: "I hope to write an even more comprehensive book about Jean Tinguely at some point." This wish came true in 1987: an expanded and updated version was published as an exhibition catalogue (No. 42) for the Tinguely exhibition in the Palazzo Grassi, Venice. Hultén retained the striking motif of the bag in a modified form: the book was in a slipcase with a shoulder strap.
